    Strada. No more doubts. :nono:

    > Car-like ride which means, much more smoother
    > ***y-design ( obvious naman diba? )
    > Less maintenance problems ( the navara emits black smoke when accelerating/revving )

Next would be Ford ranger. No knowledge `bout it. Still new, less owners. Problems still not popping up.

    Suv's for 1.1 million?

    > Ford escape
    > Hyundai Tucson
    > Nissan X-trail

ground clearance not that high unlike the strada.

    `nuff said

I checked around and it says the minimum ground clearance of the GLX is only at 200mm while the Tucson is at 195mm already. Even the escape is said to be 200mm already. Maybe it would be better to have an SUV that would properly fit 5 passengers already while having a roof to cover your baggage such as the escape or the tucson.

Sa Navara ay aircon noise, squeaking hood, smoke belching(for some because of diesel quaity). Para sakin ang Strada looks like a sedan but drives like a truck, yun Navara ay kabaligtaran po..

Pero to the TS, strada talaga next would be ford ranger and next would be hilux.

Objectively, Calsonic (Nissan's A/C supplier) does use a larger evaporator and condenser when compared class per class. And yes, other a/c brands used by other manufacturers are adequate also. But when it comes to handling higher temps, Calsonic systems do it more efficiently.

As for ground clearance, what is mentioned in the brochure is ground clearance at the lowest point of the vehicle (usually under a differential or axle). If you want something for use on water, get a vehicle with a higher step in height (measured from the ground to the bottom of the door). So you'll have less worry of water coming into the cabin. Also note the placement of the air intake. The Strada has it on the leading edge of the hood which is not my preferred location. For a truck, I'd rather get somthing that draws air from inside the fender, behind a headlamp or orther more protected areas. There is a gasket protecting the air intake on the Strada, though. Which would be adequate for most of us already.

As for being old. I'm no fashionista. If I like a car, I wouldn't care if a newer model comes out. My current vehicle is superseded by 2 facelifts already. Yet I don't feel bad about being the 'old model' because I love my rig.

My biggest gripe about the Strada is the smallish bed. But if you're not hauling anything large, then it's ok. Strada 4x2 and 4x4 models share the same high rider chassis. Not sure about Navaras.

here are my opinion about Strada & Navara

    Strada
-pretty good ground clearance, no problem in dealing with knee high waters

    Navara
    -its biggest in its class
-the 4x2 model has a lower ground clearance, you need to spend a little more if you want to gain same stance as the Strada

    other option:
    Hilux
-just this 2009 a 4x2 G version was already released
-it already has the same height & looks of a 4x4, but cheaper current price is 1.062M

    just my two cents

As an "almost" owner of Navara (paid the downpayment and Nissan failed to deliver the unit as promised), I picked Strada.

    Why?

    1. Nissan has the worst casa service. Mitsubishi isn't far behind though. Imagine dealing with them for the next 5 years of your life. Hell on earth.
    2. I test drive the 4x4 Navara. Very impressive. Lots of power on tap. When I looked at their 4x2, I walked away. The 4x4 has all the mojos you need.
    3. But then again, I'm using it for city driving most of the time and occasional hauling, so I don't need 172 horsepower. A 4x4 Strada is adequately enough, 160hp. Navara's pickup bed is BIGGER and WIDER too, but I don't haul BIG cargo all the time.
4.Navara's body is bigger and the turning radius bigger too. My parking space is small. My friends always wonder how I can park a pickup inside a small lot. Strada has the smallest turning radius, very helpful.
    5. Although I'm not yet a formal member, Strada club rocks. Just reading their topics helped me a lot.
    6. Forget the aircon issue. My girlfriend complains how freezing Strada's aircon is.
    7. The stock HU of Strada plays USB, has 6 speakers VS 4 from Navara.
    8. Riding comfort is about the same. I find Strada's ride softer though.
    9. Navara's stock height is low. They brag that they have the tallest ground clearance in their brochure. Lies.
    10. I'm a fan of box shaped pickups. Navara edge my Strada a bit in this deparment. But Strada's look is still growing on me.

    You sure did your homework.

The pick up segment has so much choices....its practically tailored on what you need.

Help!! Strada or navarra
