September 1st, 2009 09:27 PM #174matagtag ba talaga ang fortuner? thinking of getting a pre-owned one over a brand new montero. nakaka-turn off nga mga salesman ng mitsubishi. i hate it when they give priority to those who will do in-house financing. and they keep on saying na 200 na ang nakapila for the montero. parang ayaw ako pabilhin eh.
thinking of getting a pre-owned fortuner instead na low mileage. my only issue is yung tagtag which has been discussed a lot here at tsikot. i think i have to ride a fortuner myself to be able to decide on this. aside from that, i don't see any issue with a fortuner. it's a toyota, madali parts, has high resale value and looks better than the montero (exterior).

September 2nd, 2009 12:22 AM #176Well for me it's a wrong choice... Besides the not so good looks, the Fortuner at least on our experience is somewhat a lemony car (3V model). If we had to choose all over again, sana we picked a Montero, Santa Fe or Xtrail.
Nakakasuya na din kasi tingnan sa kalsada parang pang masa na... ok lang sana yun eh, but again it has some lemony characteristics especially the engine (2 mos. of use nag hard strating na?! WTF! and it's handling sucks imo)
Now everytime I saw a Fortuner on the streets... in the back of my mind I usually say "ewwww..."
and what also keeps my head fuming is the toyota casa keeps on defending the crappy issue saying that our local diesel kasi is low quality etc. OMG... haaay. I our garage, this is the least car I wanted to drive.

September 2nd, 2009 03:07 AM #178Bro, I sold 5 cars so that I could buy 3... I'm not sure if it was a good decision but I'm happy with my buys so far. It was more of being practical with my choices now that I just hit 4o (middle age)
. I kept a couple of pasikat euro cars for pogi points though...
Simple lang naman yan IMHO... pag di mo na trip at sakit lang ng ulo ang inaabot mo, ibenta mo na. Yes sir! You heard it right... SELL it ASAP and BUY what you think is a better one! Bottomline kase, your car should make you feel good specially if you bought it with your hard earned money.
Actually, I agree with most of the posts here. Yung kantyawan kasama talaga yan... kantyawan lang naman yan e. We are all passionate about our cars kaya natural lang siguro ang pagbalitaktakan natin ang mga issues. At the end of the day ikaw din naman ang magde-decide kung anong kotse bibilhin mo 'di ba? E di matuto ka na sa mga threads at posts dito bago ka mag-decide. Sakin lang naging very helpful talaga tong car talk.
Montero or Fortuner mga bro... pareho tayong panalo dyan. A very close #1 and #2 naman ang pinagpipilian natin. It could go either way... anytime.
I move that this thread be locked and used for future reference.

September 6th, 2009 12:52 PM #179my owm experience, 1st i wanted a montero, but mit.casa sucks, why?? been to 3, otis, MOA and lipa, all of them says its PILA, but if in house financing I can get it in a week. Ask them interest rate for 4yrs. diyos ko po 43% when my bank offer (BPI) 23% only. plus higher chattel fee, 40T for 1.5M, mine ( I decided to get 09 everest) 21T only. so say ko ayaw ko naman na harap harapan ako ninanakawan.
Then I went to toyota otis, same result, in house financing, 1 week I can get a fortuner. But anyway toyota brand ayaw ko na, 1999 I bought a revo, may factory deffect panay repair ayaw nila palitan natulo ang windshield. In the end sa inis ko benta ko na lang. after 8 yrs. I bought a Avanza thinking baka nagbago na. Toyota otis sucks, grabe, I have some rubber moulding replace, pero you know what, sa invoice replace, but when I went home hindi pa pala. pinag interesan na. When I call, SA told me baka daw nalimutan palitan.
Never did I have this kind of problem with Honda, 2006, hotcake honda civic, never did my agent ask for anything just to speed up the release of my civic.
Lucky for me after less than a week I got my 1.8S a/t civic aug. 2006.
Now, my decision to buy a new car will always be after sales service.
With my new ride ford everest, grabe champion ang service.
I have a little problem on my stereo, ford send the technician dito mismo sa bahay ko. Lucena city, he travel all the way from manila.
