Lets review the data a little more

vios (15,139) - This is the angels burger ng mga low cost sedan.

innova (9,458) - For the first time nilaglag ng fortuner. Bungal yung bumper eh.

hiace (7,301) - A good surprise, ito tama pagkagawa dapat malapad ang van hindi pahaba.

wigo (7,255)- Dapat pwesto ito ng mirage hatch. Sobrang playing safe noypi

Either bentelog or kaninbaw

Mukha yung sedan ata mabenta

ecosport (4,318)- a cheap version of the 1st gen crv.

mirage g4 (3,487)- Hindi maganda g4. Why filipinos do not like yung hatch..... maaga kasi magfamilya

brv (2,552)- Nang-aasar talaga honda for 900thou price gas engine ang dami naibenta. King of gas engine talaga honda dito pinas.

    navara (2,484)- underrated pickup

urvan (2,212)- masyado makitid for a van

saka galing ako sa Toyota Museum sa Japan, oh wow if you have a Toyota you'll enjoy that place sobrang I wanted to stay the whole day there even if I dont have the Toyota. sobrang galing ng present ng Toyota sa mga cars and engines nila, it's car lovers paradise

Almost 1 in 2 new vehicles are Toyota. Just WOW!

Ano ba yan, made to order?
It's a different story siguro kung mga independent distributors, pero I think the numbers were mostly from the official distri din.

Man... insane numbers for the Wigo. Probably a huge promotional push (discounts) for the old one combined with the release of the new one put it over the top.

    -

The Vios' numbers I can understand. The 1.3E is very good value for money, even if the the fuel economy is no longer that good (especially compared to the likes of the Ciaz and the City). But the Wigo?

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    it's a toyota.
    it's cheap.

i wouldn't be surprised if fleet accounts made a significant contribution to the figures.

of course, pasok sa budget yung wigo, wide range of service dealership, parts, and the badge itself. (disclaimer: have driven a wigo for quite a while) would go for Celerio but parts may be a problem kapag may nasiraan na part yung Celerio.

IMO, bro,- the Jazz is not selling because it is already very very expensive vs. comparable rides.

Pero, in as far as swallowing grocery hauls,- or pangsundo sa airport,- saludo ako riyan.... (at least for the previous gen Jazz we owned).

It can fit 3 balikbayan boxes, a luggage [can handle one or two more, IMO] and a couple of carry ons at the back while seating (1 driver) and 2 passengers comfortably.

I remember buying a lot of bulky electrical fixtures etc when we were constructing our new place.... The person who assisted me then was hopeless that it would not fit our Jazz,- but when we were able to,- he was really impressed....

Also, when we moved to our new place,- I had a couple of 40-inch LED TVs, a mini-component, a CRT TV, heavy duty vacuum cleaner, and some other bulky electrical/gadget stuffs in the back.

I am certain that a regular sedan would not be able to accommodate any one of the above.... Only a van could (GS) - but of course a van costs ~P1.5M++ already.

The Jazz is a freaking fantastic car. Its biggest problems are, actually, sitting in the showroom right next to it.

The HR-V, despite the lack of rear headroom and despite not being any more utilitarian than the Jazz, sells better because it is a "crossover" (despite the ultra-low ride height).

The Mobilio and BR-V both offer seven seats within the same price range. What family man would get a Jazz over a BR-V? The Jazz is arguably higher quality, but the BR-V sits seven, clears humps better, and has the exact same engine and transmission, as well as a standard touchscreen on even the base unit.

For those who aren't "family men", there are ***ier cars than the Jazz out there. Like the HR-V.

That said: Honda's line-up is killing it. They've covered every budget range and need... go in for City, come out with a Mobilio. Go in for a Mobilio, come out with a BR-V. Go in for a Jazz, come out with an HR-V. I'm just worried about in-brand cannibalism, but since these cars share a lot mechanically, it shouldn't be such a big deal on the service side. It will just take more creative and intelligent stocking to keep unsold inventories for certain models from piling up.

Note: No numbers for the Crosswind, either.... it should be sitting around 20th place, in front of the D-Max (it was in 22nd place in January)... the list is "bungi".

The Celerio shares parts with the older Celerio and the Alto. You should have absolutely no problems getting parts for the K10 engine anywhere.

The Wigo is a Daihatsu. It doesn't share anything with other Toyotas locally sold. Even the engine is only sold in the Wigo, and the new one is VVTi, which means it is slightly different to the first-gen. (Celerio engine is an update, but it still retains the same valvetrain and other major parts).

If you're thinking of outside service and parts, you can get more stuff for the Mirage than EITHER of these two cars. Dress up parts, body kits, spares. The Mirage is the only one in the class for which you can buy commercially made intakes, exhausts and full suspension systems (anti-roll bars, lowering springs... even coil-overs, if you really want them!).

Bro.,- I'd say go in for the Honda and come out disappointed because the rides are very expensive.

Instead,-go for the "more reliable" and more cost effective Toyotas....

The Jazz and HR-V are definitely on the expensive side.

But the Mobilio and BR-V are just about right-priced. The BR-V is selling like hotcakes.

Bro.,- but I understand earlier that you're pitching for the Ertiga...

BRV - there's something there that does not look right. And also, a short stride compared to the Mobilio...

That's why the Toyota Badge effectively changes the curve of the game....

They've done that earlier with the Avanza,- and then now, the Wigo,- both Daihatsus.....

    Market re-branding?

Make it a Toyota and it will sell like hotcakes at least here in our country.

Now, how about Daihatsu Terios (to compete with Ecosport),- when will they bring this in the Philippines? - this is another sure winner....
