    Update as of May 2015
THE ULTIMATE CAR GUIDE: Car Features - May 2014 Philippines Car Sales Figures

    Top 10 update:
    1. No change for vehicles ranked 1-8
    2. Mitsubishi Mirage G4 now at #9 (from # 12)
    3. Ford Ecosport slid from #9 to #10
    4. Hilux formerly #10 slid to #11

    1 Toyota Vios 14,264
    2 Toyota Fortuner 9,810
    3 Toyota Innova 7,852
    4 Toyota Hiace 7,474
    5 Mitsubishi Montero Sport 6,913
    6 Toyota Wigo 5,223
    7 Ford Ranger 4,566
    8 Isuzu MU-X 4,011
    9 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 3,947
    10 Ford Ecosport 3,866

Although its ranking slid, I am stil perplexed on the demand for the FJ Cruiser.

Wake up call for the Koreans. Most people aren't going to pay high price for Korean vehicles. 2M for a Kia Carnival? Or Santa Fe?

The FJ is in the same price range as the fortuner, i. e., relatively affordable. Buyers probably buy it as their special events car. It's a true gas guzzler..

Are any of the Korean cars being built in an ASEAN country? Advantage ng mga Japanese-branded cars is the lower taxes for imports from other Asean countries...

Aside from toyota's arguably superior engineering, Toyota also encourages third party parts manufacture. These make Toyota maintenance easier and cheaper.

Isuzu has sold 800 MUX units per month for the first 6months of this year. As reported in sunstar

Thats close to 6000 units this year. They have almost sold 10000 units since launch last year. 👍

more cars sold, more traffic. there should be a penalty of every car sold. say... 100,000 per car. these money will be used for road widening and construction of flyover. the use of old isuzu engines in jeepney and busses should be stop. and there will be enough funds for electric bus and jeepney.

You do not want more cars on the road but you want road widening and more flyovers?

Bigyan mo lang ng better choice ang car owners to move around, I'm sure many will reduce their daily driving.

Alam naman yan ng govt officials natin kung papaano kaso ayaw nilang gawin. I'm sure they have been to Japan, Hongkong or Singapore.
