My wife and I were also deciding between the City 1.5 (836k) and Lancer 1.6 AT (828k). Mas maluwag talaga ang Lancer, maganda pa ang head unit. Pero mas maluwag pa din ang Kia Soul, mataas ang headroom and legroom, although it is a bit more expensive (899k discounted).

I am just interested on how they will respond. Tapos pagusapan natin dito. Baka meron na silang default response na pinag-meetingan, malay natin.

PS: Pakisabi, Mazda yung nicclaim ng Haima, at hindi Nissan.

I just hope they would face the article head on, and not use lemon cars of other brands as an example. "Eh hindi lang naman po Haima ang may lemon car."

Not weird at all. Maybe he just wanted to share what he have read in this thread.

Now, go buy yourself a Lancer EX and live a peaceful, worry-free life.

Got this text message from the SA:

"isolated case lng po ung sir. its nothing to be worried sir. AT transmission din po ung freema n un sir, still we will come up po with a formal reply..thanks.."

Anyway, typical response, pero siniraan na nya ang buong AT ng Haima. :D
I will wait for this "formal" reply...

    Wildcard guess:

There is something wrong in the transmission control module of that Freema. While going uphill, it is supposed to get a signal from the engine control module to downshift to a lower gear, relevant to engine rpm, speed, throttle position, kickdown switch activation, etc. But it does not, hence hirap or hindi maka-akyat ang kotse. Because it is stuck (maybe) on a higher gear. ATF has nothing to do with it.

    That is just a guess!

Magshift ba talaga to lower gear yun? I thought you should put it on D1/D2? If going uphill?

Yes it will, hence the "automatic transmission". One can over-ride it however by shifting manually to D2 or D1, not only for going uphill, but also for going downhill (engine braking). But, by manually shifting to that positon, you are locking the transmission to that particular gear. It will only resume automatic function once you put it back on D.

Driving up Baguio, I would always leave the selector on D, and give the car liberty on choosing the gears to suit the driving style, road condition, etc. Going down, I manually shift to D2 or in extreme cases (steep inclines/Kennon) D1. This will help keep my brakes from overheating (brake fade).
