I'll choose Honda because of it's value and reliability (though may recall ngayon) at least parts wise available kahit outside casa at high resale value. I think better FC than mazda3. Pero Kung sa porma, lamang ang mazda3 for me

March 15th, 2011 04:56 PM #6We have a 2-liter Mazda3, and Honda City 1.5, both 2010 model.
The 2-liter Mazda consumes around 8-9 kms per liter (San Lorenzo, Makati - Roces, QC route).
The interior and looks of Mazda, albeit outdated, is still classically beautiful. It is well built, with good emphasis on plastic quality, and gap tolerances. I was initially looking at the 1.6 Mazda, but realized how much underpowered it is after a testdrive. Honda 1.5 just feels so much lighter against Mazda's 1.6, from standstill. True to some generalizations here, that 1.6 is as heavy as it looks, and will likely consume a lot of gas on a stop and go traffic of the Metro. Hence, I chose the 2.0I deliberately did not care for the "new" smiley Mazda, the looks just doesn't appeal to me.
Practically speaking, I'll get the 1.5 City over the Mazda, if we are talking about the 1.6. But if gas price is no object to you, I'll choose Mazda, for sheer handling and build quality.
By the way, I was never a fan of Mazda until I bought a CX9 early last year. A few months later, I bought that 3.
My wife drives that City, and just recently, a Yaris (which I believe is a more practical car than the City if you often just drive alone, or with a passenger).
