A bit OT, OB sounds like my mother giving practical advice on where to spend money and so. Un lang inde nag bigay ng social climber anf image advice nanay ko 😄
On topic, my relatives had never been let down by their isuzu pickups. Its being used back then for transporting bakeshop supplies and equipments, but has now been delegated to short trip city driving. Only AC and transmission has been repaired so far
Well the trend for pickups now are becoming more for the family oriented buyers which is why Nissan gambled with the multi link suspension instead of leaf springs. Even the interior has been redesigned to be more carlike so there is class already in buying pickups. Benz, Hyundai and Renault are already planning to launch their own pickup to get a piece of the pie and if the pie is getting bigger, car manufacturers will invest in it. I foresee that future pickups will have reclining 2nd row seats and bigger legroom for families with dirt related jobs and startup entrepreneurs.
I understand OB's point. I know people who have no practical use for a pickup save for the occasional dive into flooded streets. Some of them get buyer's remorse shortly and end up selling it with very low mileage. But then there are others who really enjoy them. One of them is a doctor. Using it makes him happy and that's what's most important isn't it? Everyone is different. For some people the pick-up is their 3rd, 4th or 5th car. For some it's their only car and the only one that fits their lifestyle. If anything I guess the lesson is to step back and take your time in choosing which car you really want/need.
My vote goes to the Renault Alaskan:
This is just still a concept though, based on the NP300.
Hilux is still the best. But the new generation is way overpriced. The choice of the ISIS
As far as review and mga auto experts there are just 4 na pa pipilian, Ford Ranger, Mazda bt50, Chevrolet colorado and Nissan np300 navara in todays market.
As for hilux it was yesterdays hero. According to most reviews and drove it.

pick up. Peace!!
Don't forget the strada. Best backseat recline angle, and best turning radius. This pickup is easier to drive in the small and tight spaces. We have a 14 year old strada. Still very reliable. Go anywhere vehicle. Sensitive parts like The turbo and A/T never give up. Zero rust on the body also.
