I would concede that people who learned driving on an M/T are more likely to explore and use the different modes and shift positions of an A/T beyond just leaving it in D. I guess it's a carry over habit of having that connection with the engine and gearbox. Something I do as well.
Its now rare to see drivers who truly understand what each shift position and drive mode actually does. They may have an overall idea... like, they know that Power Mode makes their car go zoom... but not really grasping the logic and physics behind how and when things happen.
