with m/t you can exploit your engines potential

with a/t you just roll(just for convenience)

pero in the near future sa tingin ko magiging intelligent na ang a/t with technology so rapidly changing

For me, the fact that we are driving in the Philippines is enough to be alert at all times

So removing one task such as shifting gears manually helps in terms of safety as we are focused on the road more.

That's also correct. But on moderate traffic conditions, I still prefer M/T since it gives better engine braking. That means better control on distance between me and the vehicle in front of me.

+1. Sabi kasi nung isang tsikoteer ALL M/T daw ay iphe-phase out na. Sa PUV's palang hindi na ito maaari dahil for extreme use ang mga ito like I said before, uphill climbing with heavy loads etc.

OT: May nasakyan ako before actually mga 8 years before na hehe, A/T na bus tapos kakaiba ang shifting nito. De-pindot. Yup, buttons yung A/T hehe, cool!

Example is naka-Full stop ka and then mag-u-turn ka.

    - Use your signal lights
    - Titingnan mo yung side mirrors mo
    - Shift Gear
    - Timpla gas and clutch (kapag stop and go pa mas complicated pa hehe)
    - Habang hawak ang manibela be ready for shifting anytime when cruising already

Kung iisipin mo complicated talaga ang naka M/T but once you get used to it, parang wala lang hehe, kumbaga automatic na ang mga dapat mong gawin hehe.

I understand your comment if you probably drove a non powered steering light car.

First, please note that I post this with no ill intent nor hard feelings. I just want to clarify some things.

Good to know you understand why I commented so. What I can't understand is why you would call "insane" those who would prefer PAWIS-STEERING over power-steering WHEN THAT WASN'T EVEN WHAT I SAID in the first place. In short, it was uncalled for (the "insane" remark).

... if you probably drove a non powered steering light car.
    "Probably" ?

I *DID* drive one, I already said so, after *also* mentioning about hating to drive "pawis-steering" vehicles :

Sa "pawis-steering" pa lang, magmumura ka na. The first Lancer Pizzas were notorious for this. But some non-power steering vehicles, like my single-cab Mits L-200, weren't "pawis-steering" at all. In fact, I prefer that type over power-steering because no hydraulic hoses and what-have-you's will ever give you problems.
When one of the PS hoses of my double-cab L-200 developed a leak, I had to drive it for days without power steering, and that's when I missed my old L200 single-cab.

    :peace:

OT: My Alto is pawis steering.

For me pawis or power pa yan, hindi naman talaga gaanong nagkakaiba. kapag umaandar obviously walang problema dahil magaan ang manibela. Anyway ngayon eh kahit sa basic cars eh meron na namang power-steering, yung akin lang talaga wala hehe but I like it kasi work out muscles ko.

Peace all.

*NOT* in *every* situation.

    - You need to shift gears (so tinitingnan mo RPM mo hindi yung apak lang and forget the rest)
Only if hindi mo pa kabisado ang sasakyan mo't kailangan mo pang tumingin sa RPM. Pag kabisado mo na, pakiramdaman mo lang, no need to look.

Sorry, what I mean is kasama na yung pakiramdaman dun. Both of my cars don't have a tachometer so pinapakiramdaman ko lang din. Mali kasi yung "tinitingnan" term ko, dapat "observe" pala.
