August 13th, 2015 02:26 AM #1071Good day tsikoters,
I need your help po. I'm a newbie po when it comes to driving and first time ko po kukuha ng car. I did a little research po and read reviews online and now I'm confused kung anong car ang kukunin ko. Btw, I'm into automatic transmission subcompact cars and ito po mga pinagpipilian ko:
1. Ford Fiesta Hatchback
2. Chevrolet Spark
3. Hyundai i10
4. Hyundai EON
5. Toyota Wigo
Sirain po ba daw ang mga ito (es. fiesta)? Alin po ang matipid sa gas? Alin po ang kakayanin na tumakbo from Baguio to Manila (uphill and highway)? Alin po ang maganda for both highway and city drive?
Dahil sa newbie po ako, natatakot pa po ako gumamit ng malalaking cars tulad ng Fortuner kaya subcompact cars po pinili ko.
Your expert answers and/or recommendations would be so much appreciated

If it's true that you're shying away from the Fortuner just because of size and not because of price, then get an HR-V or ASX or XV instead.
From your criteria though, I'd suggest the Mirage GLS. If that's too expensive, then the Wigo G. Both are great starter cars for people on a budget.

August 13th, 2015 03:52 AM #1073^first of all walang automatic ang eon
Ang fiesta naman, di ko masasabing sirain. But its jerky. Para bang nalilito kung saan nya ilalagay ang gear pag stop and go traffic
Your other choices are fine. But try to add mirage or g4 dahil cvt ang transmission, matipid sa gas. Or vios (since nasa choice mo ang fiesta)
Any modern car today can go up to baguio

Not sure if yun models o variants ng Fiesta dyan sa atin eh DCT. Pero possible.

Considering that it's your first car i'd recommend the mirage/G4 or wigo. Cheaper to maintain. Very good start for newbie car owners.

Dual-clutch transmission pala ang fiesta, hmmm. Kaya pala most reviews na nakita ko is about sa pagiging jerky ng Fiesta, yun pala is dahil sa dual-clutch ito. I have researched more about the answers you both had gave me and most are saying na kailangang paabutin till 1000 miles para matutunan daw ng fiesta ang driving style mo. Thank you for the info

The mitsubishi mirage and toyota wigo are both interesting cars. Aside from it's cheap to maintain, what can you say po about it's performance.

August 14th, 2015 11:39 AM #1078^mas lamang ang performance ng mirage kaysa wigo. Dahil 1.2 vs 1.0 ang engine. Kung gusto mo pa mas malakas andyan ang brio or vios. Parehong 1.3. But again, any new car can reach 100 or 120 kph and climb baguio. Even eon na 0.8 lang ang makina

Sir i have driven the Mirage Cvt. It's Fc is really good. About 12 to 14kms/ltr in city driving. I just notice the front suspension lacks in soaking up potholes and the a/c is neither cold or hot during noon time traffic in Mla. There are 5 of us in the car. Other than that It's a good A to B car. The Wigo sir i haven't had the chance to drive one.[emoji4]
