Alto vs. Picanto vs. Getz

I got mine from Suzuki Caloocan through Lui. He is a member of this forum. PM him so that he can assist you. He is okay and very helpful. I got it cash, 359K + 11K insurance + 7K 3 year registration. Sayang pa kasi iyong chattel mortgage which this car would go to about 10K more. pero alam ko pag financing you can go as low as 10% down right now so basically P36K. Safe na siguro if you allot 50K for your downpayment. Most Bank Financing offers more or less the same rate, . Since wala pa silang binibigay na discount, might as well ask quotations from all the suzuki dealers. Tell them how much downpayment you want to pay and how many years you want to pay the balance. Typical multiplying factor for 1 year to pay is 1.08. for 2 years it is 1.189 it goes progressively higher as you pay longer. I think you can choose up to 6 years to pay. BTW if you are monitoring the Cherry Tread (Iseway motors) in Cars forum, This July1 they will release the Chery QQ which according to the grapevine will be price approximately 250K (no confirmation on the price, tsismis lang ito ). If you are not in a hurry, it might be better to wait for the release of the QQ. The QQ looks more modern than the Alto but has no track record yet because it is made in China. Initial feedback is that quality is not so good but it looks attractive. Personally, I decided not to wait for it because, I feel that the Alto will have lesser headaches than the QQ plus dealership support is more widespread. I don't want to go to Makati just to have a budget car serviced.
Judging from the performance of motorcycles made in china, They look good, perform well but they breakdown more often than the equivalent hondas. "Madaling Masira" is the most common comments of those who buy China made motorcycles. Of course, they usually add the fact also that spare parts are available and quite cheap.

Thanks for the reply sir, I really appreciate it. I have that on my mind that I should wait first for Chery QQ before deciding which car to buy. Regarding the feedback their really pointing out that Chery have the looks but binawi naman sa quality. Hope may kasabay ako d2 sa tsikot na titingin sa Chery kc i know regular forum members are really good interms of reviewing cars. BTW, is it already confirmed that Chery will be coming in Philippines in the first week of July?

I tried working in Photoshop with the Alto with a silver duotone pero parang di maganda lumalabas. Baka ipa body color ko nalang pagdating.

I believe in the PHUV and I am willing to put my money where my mouth is. That is I will buy one unit to show support for the development of the Philippine Car industry. Pag okay then maybe buy some more. Pero realistically speaking the PHUV won't come out before the end of the year. They are showing daw a prototype in Market market until June 14. Anybody who plans to go there, kunan niyo naman nang litrato, and post it in a new thread. I'm quite sure maraming interesado dito. From prototype to final model normally takes at least a year.

Proxies, I think it is confirmed that Iseway motors will open on the first week of July.

I got the Alto today. Initial impression is very good. Malamig talaga ang aircon. I tried the unit at 12noon and immediately I noticed that the aircon was very cool. Nirequest ko narin si Lui na ipatint ng 3M and central locking with alarm. Nirequest ko narin siya nahanapan nang mags. I also tested it going up antipolo and okay naman siya. Of course di siya ganun kabilis considering that it only has an 800cc engine. Cute na cute ako. Like Niky fascinated ako sa maliit na kotse. the 2 rear seats can also be independently folded and when you fold the seats ang laki na nang kargahan. In the manual there is a European mileage test and it says 25KM/liter for highway driving and 17km/liter city driving. Sana tutoo ito. With the current prices of gas and still rising, this would be a very practical car. BTW I think the standard alto is okay even without the power steering. I barely noticed the fact that it was not power steering.

yes old blue. I intend to buy 1. I have made my decision, the moment I read the forum on the PHUV about 3 months ago. . Honestly it looks cute in its own way. Look at it this way, If you buy a Subic Pajero and it develops problems in 6 months, you won't complain right? I think the PHUV will be a little better. I have my faith in the Philippines. 60% local content is fantastic. We will be helping our country generate more jobs.

When our company was relatively young we bought 3 Anfra service vehicles. My complaint with the Anfra, puro masilya and madali kalawangin but I was still eagerly awaiting the improved Anfra model unfortunately it never came out so we shifted to L300's. There was a time also when I was really in love with the Delta Mini Cruiser it has a very high local content. Even the engine block and the transmission was made in the Philippines (licensed from Toyota but built in the Philippines nevertheless) . I was very proud of the mini cruiser. We were one of the first with the mini SUV 4x4 concept unfortunately Delta focused on the military market. When the economy went on a tailspin in 1983, Delta folded up. Sayang.

Service deluxe ang trabaho ni Lui. Siya na ang nagasikaso sa mags. Kay di ko alam kung saan niya kinuha pero brand new siya at gandang ganda ako. Natuwa nga ako 10K lang ang apat na mags. I was expecting a higher price.
Look for Niky's evaluation report of the Alto. May mga pictures iyon atsaka very informative. In fact because of that test report, I decided to buy the Alto. In terms of size, okay naman ang alto sa Harap. Sa likod pag mga 5'7" na medyo masikip pero in general okay lang for 4 people. I ask my driver to pick up something in Laguna and initial FC has been impressive, running 210kms for 8.97 liters. or approximately 23.4 kms/liter for highway driving. Sa City naman 165 kms for 10.2 liters or approxmitaley 16.17 kms/liter.

Ang laki ng luggae compartment! Malaki pa sa Getz! Nakakapagtaka kasi kasing laki lang ito ng Picanto. So pano na legroom nito?

I also bought a suzuki alto last july 22. I got a white deluxe alto. I even started a forum for suzuki alto owners at the suzuki club pls do check it out.

I added keyless entry and alarm, sensors for backing, 2 4-way pioneer speakers at the back 3M magic tint. mudguards and window visors. changed the horn one low lng kasi kaya bought a pair mahina kasi baka di ako pansinin at makabangga.

I now spend 500 pesos for gasoline a week! I am from Caloocan and I go to Makati, Pasay, UP Diliman, Katipunan, Nagtahan, Sto Domingo in Quezon City at least once every week.

I'm getting my license plates now yehey!

ang alam ko nagkaroon ng engine prob yung dumating 1st batch ng kia carnival1 dito sa atin, mga 2.9 ang makina,-alam klo direct injection mga yun... pero sa bago ngayon, so far wala pa naman ako nadidinig na prob...or kung meron man, nothing to rant about at inaasikaso agad ng dealer...

ano po naging problem sa engine ng mga first batch ng kia carnival??? we have one bought last 2001, siguro under pa ito ng first batch kasi wala pang masyadong carnival that time.

going back to the topic, i like the design of the Getz compared to alto... I almost bought 1 last june kaya lang ireresched ko nalang pag nakaipon pa ako ng pandagdag sa downpayment para bumabay pa ang monthly....

PM mo ako lui kapag may mga new offers sa hyundai ahh.... lalo na kung ibabalik nila yung free LTO, CHATTEL AT INSURANCE... sayang di ko na maabutan by the time na nakaipon ako ng pandagdag sa downpayment, target ko kasi mga 30percent to 40percent downpayment. hopefully within this year kaya todo tipid sa gastos at wala munang gimik gimik...

I saw a kia picanto with foglamps na standard build na, hindi mukhang aftermarket kasi naka built in sa bumper, maganda din at cute ang picanto pero mukhang mas roomy ang getz.
