Alto vs. Picanto vs. Getz

I ordered the base model. Another reason why I ordered the base model is because I want to paint the bumpers silver metallic gray for a duotone look. I also ask Lui to help me look for the mags, Install auto door locks with alarm, order customize body kits and have it 3M tinted. I'd like to see an alto with spoilers . I will post the pictures once the unit has been delivered and the conversions have been done.

Wag naman sobrang laki ng spoiler, ha... ...hmmm... Alto Works look? hehehe...

Maybe a subtle hatch spoiler would be okay.

Silver metallic bumpers? What's the body color?

As for mags... Hmmm... ROTA RBs? Might be too wide, though... at 13x7, they'd probably stick out the wheel wells...

I just noticed that you were the one who reviewed the suzuki Alto. Before the review, I did'nt even know about the Alto. It was a very informative review, balance and honest, including the prositives and negatives and I decided to check out the Alto because of your review. You did a very good job. I hope you continue to do many more reviews. Suzuki owes you at least one car sale.

Dati the only european brand (read expensive) with dealership in the Philippines is Mercedes, Ngayon sari saring mamahalin na kotse na ang available sa Philippines. Pati motorsiklo napakamura na ngayon. Pagpasok mo ng trabaho, pwede ka kaagad makabili (hulugan) . Dati kailangan pagipunan mo ng mga tatlong taon.

now that's unusual..the alto hardly goes fast to ever need a spoiler.. i guess the alto is best kept to its original form, the lighter it is the better.. to exploit the high power to weight ratio of the alto..in fact they say the alto has got higher power to weight ratio than a vios..

im looking for an even more basic alto.. a barebone alto, no aircon, just 2 seaters..

Alto: 740 kg / 47 hp = 15.74 kg / hp
Picanto: 852 kg / 64 hp = 13.31 kg / hp
Vios 1.3: 930 kg / 85 hp = 10.94 kg / hp

I have already convinced our office management to buy 1 wether pangit siya o maganda kahit eventually lumabas lemon siya basta 350K . Just to show support for the development of local vehicle industry. The only problem is that I have been reading press releases since 2006 or 2005(?). Hanggang ngayon wala pang definite timetable kung kailan ba talaga lalabas. I have not even seen a prototype, puro rough sketches lang. Kaya Alto nalang muna. Or getz or Picanto for the cheapest cars in the Philippines.

yung alto for the price and the warranty.. ok na.. imagine its just like spending 50k per year for the car, and tipid pa sa gas, and then after 3 years when warranty has expired sell it for 200k..hehehe.. (a 5 year old discontinued kia pride still sells for 130k)

if you buy an old car baka 50k a year din magastos mo sa maintenance..

Sabi ni Carlo may grupo ng mga Indian ex-pats na tumitingin sa Alto sa Autofocus show... it really is an intriguing choice for commuting duty.

Although with the small numbers being brought in (due to the limited Suzuki dealership network), they're still a rare sight on the road.

Nope. It's because our Suzuki dealership network is very small in this country, and they can't handle the volume. That they've actually sold a lot of the first batch, despite the limited dealerships, is a very good sign.

Kia had the same problem with the Picanto, initially, but that was because of high demand in other countries, which relegated us to the backburner in terms of orders.

Actually there are many available Altos, Except that they are all the deluxe models . What is out of stock is the standard model. The difference between the 2 is the price 399K vs, 359K . The deluxe model also has electric power steering, power front windows and power locks. It also has painted bumpers, and door guards. Aside from that the deluxe model has full wheel cap covers over the steel wheels while the standard model has steel wheels only. But I prefer the standard model. I intend to have the bumpers paint silver for a duotone look and have the power locks with alarm installed. I also intend to replace the steel wheels with mags. Anyway Lui said that the standard models will be available next week. I think Suzuki miscalculated the demand for the 2 models. Overestimating the demand for the Deluxe model and underestimating the demand for the standard model. The price difference between the Deluxe Picanto and the Getz is only 60K(with the discount) . Maybe that is the reason why people don't buy the deluxe model anymore. At that price difference, might as well get the Getz.
