I've loved cars since I was a toddler, so I always thought that when I had the money, splurge talaga sa kotse.

But now I've psyched myself to focus more on getting good real propery instead, because it appreciates and is finite. Yung magandang lupa na available ngayon for 3M, baka in 5 years 6M na yan, or worse, wala na. Eh ang sports car, kahit in 10 years naman there will be a successor to the 86 na roughly the same price (adjusted for inflation), so it doesn't matter if you buy now or later on. Wag lang masyado late na you can't drive it na because of back pains or arthritis haha.

ah! you want some level of exclusivity..
    but exclusivity is expensive.
so you are really serious... might i suggest a porsche... any porsche.. wala nang iba pa.
    heh heh.

my non-car-knowlegeable colleague was scanning the ads... she said.. ayan! porsche! 77K lang...
sabi ko.. "tita, hood lang yang binebenta niya.. bugbog pa daw.."

Yun nga eh I remember the days when I was a kid wherein I would line up all my matchbox thinking that it would be just like my garage when I grow up

And to be honest pangit man pakingan sa iba pero I think one reason as to why I've been frugal all these years is because I really wanted to have my own car. A car that was bought from my own hardwork

Well if you'll buy an Altis but feel a deep pang of regret every time you see an 86, edi go get an 86. Basta lang make sure na di mo pagsisisihan that you spent twice the money on it

Maiba ako, curious lang ha, what do you do for a living? Very few local corporate jobs would allow you the finances to buy a 2 million peso car in less than 5 years of working. Even with startup businesses, it's very rare to achieve that success in that little time. Not even the stock market can multiply returns that large, unless you started with huge capital already.

Hats off to you guys if indeed your careers have flourished so early on from zero.

I'm an airline pilot sir. Sinwerte lang paggraduate ko nagtuloy tuloy ako training sa flying then late 2013 nakapasok ako airline. Thank God.

Parang med din yan, mahal ang gastos (2M ish ata flight school ngayon) and hindi naman kaagad ang balik (but of course later on it pays off). Kaya nakakacurious na 24 years old eh dalawang kotse na kagad ang kayang bilhin. Must be some sort of flying protege. [emoji106]

Mas madali na ngayon bro. After gaining 200+ hours of flying time sa flying school nag bayad ako ng training for an Airbus320 rating. So after passing the airbus training nag apply agad ako sa airline then awa ng diyos nakapasa naman and direct first officer na once may Rating ka ng airbus

But hey! An additional 800k for a car is indeed a big thing to think about
get the 86 na bro. it may not be practical, but it is what you really wanted. im sure you will be very happy for a long time, knowing that you bought what your heart desired.

+1 here. my hard earned money is invested either in good real property or business unlike brand new cars, kalalabas pa lang sa casa tumatakbo na ang depreciation. As I getting older, you appreciate the value of money unlike during my younger years. Mahirap ata kumita ng pera ngayon maliban na lang sa mga politiko. Hehe

True. All the dream cars I told myself I would buy when I had X amount of money I never bought even when I surpassed X. Ended up buying properties instead. And then the cycle would repeat. I would say, okay I bought some properies --- time to splurge naman on my dream car when I make Y amount of money. Yet when the time came that I made Y, I ended up investing again LOL.

    Pag responsible, tatay agad?

Hindi ba mas nakakatuwa na hindi sinasayang ng ibang tao kabataan nila and instead make sensible and financially-sound decisions?

Tama sila. Listen to your heart. Kung ano talaga gusto mo, yun na ang bilhin mo. At least wala ka regrets kapag nabili mo na.
