Sir Fireproofjat, new car owner lang po ako and I got Suzuki Vitara GLX.. I cannot comment on Long term reliability and maintenance costs (I have doubts dahil sa dami nyang accessories and added functionalities.. maraming pwedeng masira at i-maintain).. Part po na pwedeng i-ready nyo and i-mindset..
Sa space, panalo po sya for family of 3.
Front and Rear sensors are also good kasi hirap ako mag assess ng distance lalo na sa masisikip na parking.. Meron syang hill assist at brake assist.. Di ko pa na test pero nice to know na meron syang 6 airbags..
Other than that, hindi na logical yung reason bakit ko gusto yung napili ko.. Follow your heart.. Basta gusto mo mapapanindigan mo.. Hehehe
Kung sa Eastern part ka Sir, you can check Suzuki Taytay..

What would be your choice in terms of:

    1) Long term reliability
    2) Space
    3) Maintenance Costs and Interval
    4) Safety
    5) Vs other similarly-priced crossovers

    Thanks!
Given the choice, id immefiately say vitara among the two, especially since #1 is long term. We have no idea how mg will fare on our roads and how robust they will make the servuce network, especially on parts. So just on that, i'd pick the vitara.

Since you own a honda, have you checked out the brv? In that price point, it think the only service item you'd need to be concious of is the cvtf replacement. Space wise, i think it is an ample 5 seater for adults. I cant recall is they added a +2 seat config 3rd row here, but if they did, i personally would only use them for emergency on short trips.

Good luck in your purchase. Ü

A crossover at 1.1M budget will pop up options like a 7 seater MPV or a diesel pick up. Both have decent ground clearance and better cargo space. Though the size of a crossover fits perfectly for small, tight parking spaces in the metro and they do have more horses under the hood for its built.

We've been in a situation recently where we had to scout for a crossover with that budget.

So between the Vitara and the Kona, I'd pick the latter.
Yes, the space are decent on both vehicles.

Vitara has a cheaper looking interior, touchscreen (distracting), and a smaller engine, although it has a slightly better ground clearance (not much though), has leather bits in the interior and rear camera...

I'd take a better engine than a parking camera and leather any day. The Kona is no slouch with its performance. Pwede ka pa makipagsabayan sa mga ibang compact cars with 2.0L that's substantially more expensive.

Me too, Kona over the Vitara. Or wait for the Seltos.

Sayang at wala na ASX. I have no big complaints with our ASX.

Pero maganda talaga Kona at Seltos.. Kia Soul din nagandahan ako..

The numbers are certainly dwindling... but there’s still a lot of diehard iPhone users out there. Mga 1 out of 10 persons siguro dito sa amin. Sh*t’s expensive as hell. 😂

Thank you for the interesting and useful inputs po! Really appreciate it! For now, scout po muna and pag may chance, mag test drive and research pa talaga since I don't have much budget/money to burn

For the pickup po, interesting suggestion pero kasi sanay na kami na may cargo space sa likod (hehe...although pwede naman palagyan ng cover).

For Jimny, mejo ayaw ni wifey kasi masyadong boxy..although I would have to agree na maganda ang tindig and ample space naman

Again thank you po ulit! Godbless!

my thoughts based only on the 2 options:

    1) Long term reliability - Vitara. Although both models are fairly new, Suzuki has a more solid reputation and the Vitara is built in Hungary. MG/SAIC and distributed/serviced by TCCCI isn't that comforting yet but MG offers a 5 year warranty.

    2) Space - MG ZS based on specs alone

    3) Maintenance Costs and Interval - probably Vitara. also, more service centers.

    4) Safety - Vitara. MG ZS only scored 3 stars in the euro NCAP vs Vitara's 5 stars

    5) Vs other similarly-priced crossovers - Vitara is arguably the most bang for the buck but as suggested by others, you may also want to consider the "crossover" MPVs like BRV, xpander and ertiga. not much fuel economy and size penalty and you have 2 more seats, just in case. ground clearances are even higher than the models you're looking at and walang sinabi in terms of cargo space and flexibility.

HTH and good luck on your purchase!

Hi and good day. I would like to ask about the cabin temperature of the Vitara GLX with sunroof during summer days. Is the A/C enough to keep the cabin cool during hot summer days especially in the noontime traffic?

Kaso, I'm not the righr person para makapag bigay feedback sa temperature..
Lagi lang din ako mag-isa kaya wala pa ako feedback from any passenger..
[emoji4]

Hi misseksaherada! Thank you very much po for the inputs. Looks like a dark or maybe a silver tint will do the job to reduce the heat coming in from the sunroof. Hindi rin ako pawisin. Usually, nasa lowest fan speed and 24C yung aircon pag nagda-drive ako.
Pag nagkaroon siguro ng time.
    Maraming salamat po uli.

    Choices ko dati:

    1. Br-V - kaya lang I don't need a 7 seater
    2. Altis - sasayad sa parking ko. Eto sana napupusuan ko noon.
    4. City - chnaged my mind kasi CVT. And may accent na kami. halos pareho lang

Good luck and enjoy sa pagcheck!
