Thou using the ICE engine often does make your fuel consumption higher as compared to using it on full EV.

The PHp 35/kwh is for DC fast charging. Slower AC charging is PHP 28/kwh like those found in malls across the city.
PHEVs are less efficient than full hybrids when they don't get plugged in since they lug around a far heavier battery. IMO best suited to people who have the means to charge at home and have back and forth commutes that can be mostly covered by EV driving.

Friend just impulsively bought the SL6 because of the EDSA Rehab. The SL6 is a much nicer car to be inside daw.
I know 3 people who were triggered into buying one (though theyve been considering them for a while) because of the EDSA rehab

It costs more new than a BYD Shark while being less powerful and not a PHEV.

Not sure if maraming willing to burn some money dyan on these low cost EVs just to escape the coding scheme of EDSA Rehab.

For the condo crowd, technologies like Nissan's ePower make much more sense than a PHEV or EV. Too bad the company's on life support right now.

If efficiency lang, (for now) nothing can beat EVs. In our current market, next in line are hybrids na... kahit plug-in hybrid pa yan.

My biggest concern with the Sealion 6 is how that 1.5L engine performs, especially once you drain that battery.

depends sa "swerte mo." my ex colleague bought a Sealion 6 and sa tabi ng office nila is a very empty mall na walang gumagamit ng chargers... he just charges his car sa mall every 3 days.

Sa city talaga dama ang tipid sa consumption ng isang ev. Pero sa expressways or highways na steady lang ang apak sa throttle tuwing cruising? Nvm yung difference compared sa mga modern oil-burners.

    If I remember correctly...

a normaly petrol enginee converts less than 30% of energy to movement... 70% if lost

in an EV, upto 90% of energy is used for motion.

same reason why manufacturers can't go all-in on hydrogen research.

in the case of hybrids. having that engine run on a fixed RPM (to charge the battery) is more efficient

    back to "China Cars"

I have a neighbor who dives a Sealion 6 (ito yung neighbor na kilala mo lang sa car... never ko sya kinausap)

I was surprised to see his car the other day na may maliit na bangga sa rear door (maliit pero di kaya ng paintless dent repair)

To our shock, dinala nya sa "body repair shop beside the road" yung car nya for repair! - as in his car was in a side walk along Taguig for body repair!

Makes us wonder if wala bang available replacement door ang BYD Philippines?

Kahit maliit lang na bangga, kelangan na kagad replacement ng whole door? Lol.
