Your best choice is to first bring it to an installer and check your separates' crossover. It might have decibel attenuation that is decreasing the output of your speakers. In general, it's usually on a 3dB gap (ex. 0dB, -3dB, -6dB). Aside from this, look at your source (head unit)'s settings. There might be settings there that is also reducing the tweeter output.

By experience, most people who have tweeter output problems suffers from either or both of these problems. It's very rare for somebody to be unsatisfied with their tweeter output given factory or aftermarket products.

Also, adding another tweeter may not necessarily solve your problem. Depending on acoustics, it might in fact just aggravate it.[/QUOTE]

thanks a lot jhnkvn. that was very clear.

Sorry, I can't see the model of the speaker so it's a hard call.

But unlike siento's observation. I believe that's a passive subwoofer with a fabricated box. Reason for this is the tell-tale speaker terminals from the box as opposed to RCA inputs.
    This is the subwoofer boss

It's like a modified active sub, wherein they integrated an amp on the enclosure along with the driver. I usually see those being sold in Concorde before. RCA lang kelangan, good to go na.

    Magtanong lang mga guru's,

Which is better, pair of 8" sub or single 10"?

Sub will be kicker cvt or cvr kung ano masmura hehe.

Subwoofer would be up to 1cuft max sealed enclosure in rectangular shape. Im not into sobra gapang na bass kaya lang mapuno ang cabin ng jazz with out distortion happy na ko. Salamat in advance sa magbibigay ng inputs!

Mas lamang boss sa cone area yung dual 8". More cone area = more air it can move. So if it's the same enclosure, mas malakas theoritically yung dual. Kaso check din if those dual 8s will have an optimal enclosure given that box size, kasi if it's the 10" sub that fits that enclosure requirement not the dual 8, dun ka na sa single 10" since di mo din maimaximize yung dual 8" mo.

Not sure if it's the right thread, but I already changed my wife's Innova's speakers & now thinking of changing the head unit as well.

Her innova is the E variant so it doesn't have the touchscreen. Wanted to get a reverse camera so she wouldn't have a hard time. But obviously I have to change the head unit first.

I saw in Lazada for some as low as P5k. I don't really need the expensive high end ones. Just need one that can be used for reverse camera, & bluetooth & steering wheel controls as well.

Anyone here tried any of them in Lazada? Or any other cheap recommendation? Thanks!

Although it won't have the extensive tuning features of Pioneer, I think, if basic lang naman plus screen for a reverse cam ang kailangan, it will do the job.

Thank you for your inputs sirs. Yes, its for my wife's Innova, & she doesn't need all the bells & whistles of a high end/ high tech touchscreen. Just need it for reverse cam, steering wheel control, bluetooth, & fm radio.

So, the ones in Lazada that are in the P6k price range aren't ok? Or how about maybe a second hand Toyota touch screen from higher models of Innova, Fortuner, etc? At least sure na may steering wheel control siya since it also came from a Toyota?

If you'd like to use the steering wheel controls. I'd suggest then to get Pioneer instead. It has this learning capability to adapt to stock steering wheel controls as long as they aren't battery operated like the ones found in Mitsubishi.

    Re: Two 8" versus 10"

If your intent is to fill out a City's cabin, even just a single 8" would do the job. You're not into gapang naman (and even if you are, it'll still be enough for the average listener). But to be safe, I'll suggest a single 10".

While two 8" would be theoretically be better, a single 10" would be better for your wallet

    Re: Active Subwoofer

Actually if you want the best active for the money..

    1. Know your budget
    2. Check out the "products"
    3. Pick the "product" with the biggest cone size/space taken.

Speaker performance is highly dependent on enclosure size. That's why (in general) the bigger it is, the better it is. Now you just need to find a product that fits into your space requirements.

^ thanks for the tip bos

i'm not wanting to shatter any windows naman but i just want to add a little oomph to the car's sound system (non-stock na siya bale) . so i'm guessing i might settle for an underseat active sub because i don't want to sacrifice the trunk space of our fd. any brand (that's not too painful on the wallet) anyone can recommend mga bro?

Sadly, I'm not that privy to the prices and brands of underseat subs nowadays.
