guys, what is your recommended tar remover?

can't seem to appreciate a clean shiny car with specks of tar underneath and at the lower sides. is it true that it takes time to totally remove tar from your car even with the tar remover applied?

hope you could help on this? thanks.

mel: tar is aspalto... black, gummy dots you see on the side of the car (near the tires) comes from the tar that is poured onto the road during road repairs.

pyongyong... i like using spray-type tar removers like 3M Tar Remover (P169 a can) if there are A LOT of tar sa car (it rhymes!)... but for spot treatment, a thicker type of tar remover will be less messy (like polyglaze tar remover). Diluted kerosene will work as well but it gets quite messy and streaky, kerosene is not a solvent, it will not remove paint.

All tar removers will remove wax instantly, so make sure you re-wax the surface after you use a tar remover.

    KEROSENE is the best!!!

Ilagay mo lang sa sprayer bottle para di messy gamitin. Just a few sprays and 20 seconds then bingo!!! Magsisimula nang humulas yung aspalto!!! Sundan mo nalang ng basahan plus extra sprays ng kerosene to finish it up!!!

Works really fine with my big L300 Van!!! And cheap too!!!

Pero sabi nga ni theveed, make sure to re-apply you wax after to restore the paint protection!!!

i use WD40 rin sa mga maliliit na spots ng tar and asphalt. medjo mahirap lang tanggalin yung mga medjo malalaki at makakapal na tar using WD40.

Tar doesn't really harden, it may thicked due to quantity, but di sya titigas...

The key is to scrape away the tar little by little from the top. Meaning, ang objective mo is not to scrape the thick tar off the paint, but to thin the tar to a level na matatanggal na sya sa paint ng kusa...

Visualize mo isang mountain, you scrape the tip of the mountain konti konti (using tar remover or kerosene and cloth) then keep scraping the TOP off until the mountain is level to the ground... At this point, just soak the tar and it should wipe right off...

    Mr. Theveed,

How about on overspray of rusproofing paint on a 2 month old repainted surface? Will the bug & tar remover or WD40 be safe to use to remove those overspray?

    Thinner siguradong tangal lahat!

Kerosine lang punas lang ng punas hangang matangal.

Happed to me few weeks ago, dust ng tar ang dumale sa buong katawan ng kotse. Maghapon akong nag rub ng tar...
