Mga sir, please I like to have your opinion kung justifiable ba talaga yung paint protection ng nano coatings or glass coatings pricewise vis a vis which is being done and promoted in this thread DIY tamang OC?
    Wala pa kasi akong nakita.

Sir CLAVEL3699 POMPONAZZI Glass Coating Protection, claims will last more than 5 years!

    welcome!

they have actually posted before about their reviews, nasa back pages.

glass coatings will definitely last longer but it does not mean once you apply it yun na, you still have to periodically maintain and replenish it.

beside glass coatings, check out also superhydrophobic coatings like ultra ever dry, maybe you get even more amazed...

car wrapping is also another option if you want to preserve and protect your car paint.

the old school "tamang oc" and "pahid wax" i guess will still remain. iba pa rin feeling kapag nahihimas mo sasakyan mo

I don't get your question. Tint is installed inside. Ang water marks ay nasa labas ng glass dahil ito ang exposed sa ulan. I use Elevo water mark remover with the included sponge. You can use another sponge or yellow applicator pads if you want.

Re: POMPONAZZI. I had proof-read these entries from another site:

but... this company, makes toothpaste and such, which is.. shocking

and.. they claim, they are the first with a sealant which turn's in to quartz, which i don't think it's true.

GTechniq's C1 is also a sealant, which turns partly into quartz crystal
Regarding the glass effect, if you notice all paint are orange peel free. If you apply an LSP like Z2 or so on an orange peel free paint, you (automatically) get a mirror finish.
Erm! Looks a bit snake oil, to obtain that kind of shine you need (apart from the obligatory black car) extremely defect free paintwork.
Pomponazzi is silica dioxide treatment. The idea is good, but the product is not stable at all! Application is very tricky and can harm the body paint which only compounding can remove. And when it does work, it doesn't last really more then 6 months.

It's two liquid mixture and need to use in 1 hour. The bottle itself if kept more then 2 months, will explode! BE CAREFUL! I have video to prove it if anyone interested.

There are a lot of coatings available in the market. Parang kabute na nagsulputan. most are repacked and relabeled. there are legit and innovators of coatings. some are pretenders. Some coating claims are unbelievable/exaggerated.

Based from experience here are my thoughts.

    - most coatings will definitely outlast any wax or sealants. coatings can last for years ( some will last less than a year ) depending on the coating and how you maintain your car. kung sawa ka na sa kaka-apply ng wax at sealant ( multiple layers pa ) and you do not have the luxury of time doing weekly/monthly/bi-montly wax/sealant application coating is the route to go.
    - most are chemical resistant and to some extent acid resistant.
    - most coating adds a significant layer to your paint ( 1um-2um per layer ) compared to a wax/sealant.
    - some coating forms a layer of clear coat ( resin/ polymer based )over car surface and most are silica based ( glass coating )
    - most coating wil provide better mar resistance and to some extent scratch resistance. pls note that all coatings will get scratched. no such thing as scratch proof.
    - sa looks department, most coating will provide a very reflective/mirror like look but it will largely depend on how the paint was prep.

anyway , read reviews of the coatings before using them. if a coating is good as advertised , it will be extensively sold/distributed/used world wide.

POMPONAZZI have to category GT1 and 880xx... kaya only trained professional lang pwede mag aapply nang POMPONAZZI

GT1 only last 1yr to 2yrs but 880xx can last 5yrs pero depende pa din sa paggamit nang Car at tamang paghugas.

So far yes, its worth it, less maintenance, just wash regularly, less swirls, and keeps my ride cleaner longer, basta umulan, malinis naulit sasakyan ko.

This is a 1 year old coating, still beads and sheets water very well, just removed, asphalt and water marks at tge middle of the year.
