mga kapatid...please comment on my detailing process that i used this weekend. took me about 5 hours total to finish. car is a 2-week old Volkswagen SUV.
1. wash, strip dealer wax with Dawn dishwashing liquid and dry with synthetic chamois/cali water blade
2. wash wheels with DP gel wheel cleaner
3. clay with Mother's claybar (yellow) and quick detailing spray. buff with MF towel
4. apply Klasse All-in-One. buff with MF towel
5. apply Klasse High-gloss Sealant Glaze. buff with MF towel
6. let car sit overnight
7. apply 2nd coat of Klasse HG Sealant Glaze. buff with MF towel
8. finish off with P21S carnauba wax. buff with MF towel
i didn't put tire dressing because everytime i do this (including when i took delivery), the wheel gets so greasy and is tough to clean. also, i have read conflicting reports that putting a carnauba wax over a sealant makes the sealant less durable. is that true? does it have any negative effects other than decreased longevity?
anyway, could i have done anything better? i'm about 90% satisfied with the results - the car gleams really nicely, but i hoped i could get the gloss to be a little bit deeper and the reflections a little more striking.

putting carnauba decreases the sealant's durability.. but hey, if you wax regularly, no diff. and the look it provides is really great. (also mas matagal ang durability ng products over there if compared to the extreme weather conditions here sa Pinas.. mine lasts for a 4-5 weeks with that combo.. so pwede na din)
BTW, you let the 2nd layer cure first before applying your P21S? ganda nyang combo mo.. drool worthy!)
what kind of tire dressing are you using? you can buff that out for a nice matte finish and avoid tire sling in the process.
You can always do better.. up the ante! hehe anyway, polishing beforehand always gets improved results.. remember, it's all in the PREP.anyway, could i have done anything better? i'm about 90% satisfied with the results - the car gleams really nicely, but i hoped i could get the gloss to be a little bit deeper and the reflections a little more striking.
Wow! Meron pa pala dito. Ganda sa white din! Sipag mo M54. Two cars agad!
thanks guys...i appreciate the comments. yes, i definitely think i should polish in between the clay and the Klasse AIO next time. i would like the shine to be a little deeper and more reflective. naubos na yung 3M hand glaze ko this time so it's time for a little research to get a replacement.
dehadista - i kind of cheated, hehe. wala na akong time to let the sealant cure (sunday na kasi eh) so i only waited a few hours before putting the carnauba. hopefully that's not going to cause issues, but i do plan to wax every 1-2 months so if it gets screwed up i'll just do it right next time.
guys, just want to hear your suggestions on my white car. I actually use it once a week (kapag coding yung daily car ko), so most of the time naka park lang sa house without a roof on top of it for protection. It is really exposed to the elements... dust, sunlight, rain, bird droppings, kids. The car really needs re-painting na, but since i haven't saved up for it yet, i'm trying to look for ways to make the paint more presentable. I've been trying to browse thru a lot of threads, pero lalo lang ako nalilito kung anong product ang pwedeng gamitin. I'm planning to just use a product that would remove the stains or whatever you call the soot like thing clinging to the white paint, then apply wax to protect it. I tried using kerosene on the paint before, and nawala yung mga stains, pero bumalik din.
1. So what do i have to do?
2. What do i use.... cleaner wax or paint cleaner? what brand? whats the diff between cleaner wax and paint cleaner ba?
3. What kind of wax do i use to protect it?
thanks.
kasama na ako sa white car group he..he
from black to white ako...
what a good and cheap cleaner wax and pure wax?

ganda yung Mother's Cleaner Wax.. pang maintenance na din yun.
Cleaner Wax is the all-in-one product. Cleans, Polishes and Seals in one step. you'll be needing this lalo na white ang car. dali mag-stain kasi and kitang-kita ang difference kagad on a white vehicle.
Paint Cleaner is just what its name says.
with regards to pure waxes, you'll be needing one that offers great protection against the contaminants / libag on your paint. meron yung 3M, Megs, Eagle One, Moms... madami actually. depends on your preference.
anyway, since white, a sealant can offer a great look instead of carnauba, IMO.. more shine rather than depth.
Sorry, but i really don't know much about the products in the market. Kung pwede paki list down na lang ng mga products worth using/buying per brand. From there, hanapin ko na lang sa mga stores yung mga yun, and choose the cheapest among the list. thanks!Originally Posted by dehadista

Btw, is zymol cleaner wax ok? mura kasi.
Karl: Lahat ng products ng mga yan "worth using" naman, depende lang talaga sa particular condition ng car. Honestly, in this hobby, you'll never know what suits you until you try it out.
theveed: i guess you're right since most of this products are "branded". However, i just wanted to know the exact product name of cleaner waxes since there are a lot of them in the market, and it is really very confusing to choose which one to buy. Dehadista referred "Mothers Cleaner Wax"... is that the product name already or is it just a general term for it? Sorry ha, talaga kasing everytime i go to hans, or tru value, di ako makapili kung alin ang bibilhin ko...which i end up not buying any kasi i am not sure which one to get. thanks for the reply!Originally Posted by theveed
Btw, some parts of the paint have small cracks na (parang spider web), is there a product that could fill up the gaps?
That's the name already, you can always visit their respective websites to check how the product looks like and its description before you head to your nearest store to buy.
mothers.com
meguiars.com
eagleone.com
etc.
The cracks are way too deep to be filled with anything sorry.
You won't need those waxes; you won't worry about the elements; you just need the good ol' water spray plus a chamois. Once you re-painted your car (or buy a new car, kahit white), have it "Diamond Gloss" with Ziebart. Tested and proven. My suggestion. Easy driving.Originally Posted by karl88

also, check out the detailing thread found in this forum. you can also click on theveed's sig, Pinas Detailing. read up on that so you can make your purchases wisely.

Try asking how many tsikoteers here have actually had the car for over 3-5 months that didn't have etchings on the paint. Even if pwede mo ibalik the claim of the product withstanding such elements is false.
Cleaner Wax
Sealant
so eto lang combo ayos na...
malaking white colored vanr pa naman ang ide-detail ko
(di bale very relaxing naman ang pag detail di ba guys)
