how so geargeD? what are the other waxes? after Showtime, there's less dust attraction? I notice dust but close to the weekly wash day so i don't QD much. Sometimes i just hose/pressure washer then dry with a sacrificial chamois next. better the chamois cos it's easier to clean cos i just flap it about like a matador ;)

non-whites gather asphalt as much and they're harder to spot. I can spot them before soaping with a mitt then mental note where to kerosene .

It's harder to show the hard work done on light colored cars. but it shows in the evening, when we usually go out for leisure, when it counts. nice work on the white.

Hah, eh di kesa mag-step 3 mag spray wax ka na lang pala, pareho lang pala ang durability at mas madali pa i-apply

what do you have on hand and what products can you avail? is your friend ready to do the weekly washing and take care of the work you've done afterwards?
wash, and just because, kero, wash, clay, prewax, wax -- nano glos + sliq na muna. mostly in the newbie's guide to car appearance maintenance

don't forget the wheel wells and wheels and tires and at least vacuum the car interior. and don't worry, the car will surely make a 180 turn towards shine and cleanliness.

unless you know your stuff under the hood, simple muna sa engine detailing and give the utmost caution. clean and dress always with a cloth. wipe clean with a degreaser, wipe to dry, wipe on your dressing. avoid electrical connectors and sensors. ready a stick for hard to reach areas. no pressure. the result/feedback will reach the rest of your barkada

    good luck!

with a light colored car already applied with klasse twins, can i apply mother fx synwax and then OCW? is this okay, lets say twice a month?

    thanks

The FX Synwax (paste and liquid) contains cleaners, so it might not be the best idea to put it on top of the Klasse twins.

    *umi001

so if a car applied with klasse twins, i should only put OCW on top?

You can top it with a wax such as collinite 845, 476, 915, or OCW, or mother's step 3 - the important thing is that what you top it with doesn't have any cleaners that might strip the sealant.

+1 to this, though the cleaners in FX Synwax are milder than the Klasse AIO, it's either you use FX Synwax or Klasse Twins (AIO + HGSG), and top it with OCW as your LSP...

it would be better if you just put OCW on top of the Klasse sealant if you don't have a collinite wax.

as umi001 and georgeD had said, the FX Synwax has cleaners that might degrade the KSG.

in any event OCW would be more durable than any of the other over the counter waxes available.

another approach would be to put nanoglos on top of the klasse sealant (to fill the swirls), then put OCW on top of nanoglos.

tried megs (NXT and carnauba), mothers (FX Synwax, Carnauba and Reflections) and microtex (Nanogloss and Sliq) waxes, even ONR, but the dust-repelling action of showtime is not comparable with them... i live in a place where there is an on-going housing devt nearby and so, passes by a very dusty road on sunny days and muddy on rainy days...
following the advise of mike phillips of autogeek (see his article here: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...r-s-paint.html), i used showtime and noticed that dust attraction was minimized. i'm pretty sure about this coz before i always get my pants dirty, above the knees part when i put/get things from the back of the montero due to dust (with carbon) accumulation on the bumper and tail gate cladding...
now, i use showtime even after putting wax and after a carwash... :-)

the FX synwax will remove the KSG, since it's a cleaner wax...

    Sorry I wasn't clear.

Lets say if the current applied wax is the FX synwax and not Klasse Twins, can I top it with nanoglos then ocw.

    like this:
car paint/clear coat - FX synwax - nanoglos - ocw
    tama ba?

    thanks

thanks. pano pag muddy, do you immediately get into detailing mode or do just a hose off?

i can only remember most of the debris/dust are gone after a fast run. i'll check that again, about static, the ground rod, and QD instead of rewax if the paint has no waterspots.

just about every suv owner has that trouble with the rear wheel arches.

pag-muddy, i slow-down to that area, and then immediately hose-down the lower part pagdating sa bahay at wash it now with EO Easi-Dri... before, i use ONR but now switched to showtime... :-)

nanoglos over synwax might be redundant... I'm not sure if synwax contains any oils, since if it does, it's not advisable to layer nanoglos over it.

OCW over synwax would work fine

if you really want a killer shine, magdagdag ka pa ng optimum instant detailer/gloss enhancer. hehe

I'm finally gonna have my car's hood re-painted this weekend! Goodbye stone chips!

Have a question mga pafs, I was told that a new paint should not be wax or sealed until the 2-3 month curing time is over... glaze lang daw pwede coz it lets the paint breathe

I was planning to buy 3M IHG this weekend until I realized that I still have Moms step 2, i'm pretty sure it's no sealant, but i'm hoping that at least one of it's names got it right, that'd it'd be good enough as a glaze... kasi kung hindi pupunta talaga ako ng Mother's at tutuktukin ko sila sa ulo... Sealer and Glzae daw, eh di naman sealant, di rin glaze!!!

well.. question is is step 2 safe for new paint?
