ganito: if you can feel the scratch with your nail, chances are, its too deep already. what you can do is to improve on the scratch by lessening its appearance considerably by leveling the paint by polishing / scratch remover.
of course, other recourse mo is to have it spot-painted.

pics would help.
labas na ba primer o masilya? or may natitira pang base paint?
hmm some cons ng spot-painting:
1) obviously, color-matching.. do you have extra paint ng car mo? the ones that come in those small cans?
2) workmanship / skill-level ng painter. should know kung saan puputol.

OT: how much po spot-painting? e kung ipasok ko kaya sa insurance, di kase talaga ako mapakali na may gasgas tsikot ko, sobra ingat ko eto pa nakuha ko

Question re: Alternative Steps/Phase detailing.
I kinda "neglected" my 2 year old car (MZ3-R, red). Months after purchase, I was able to have it clayed, sealed and wax at BB-Araneta. After that, 2x a month car wash, and California Duster/Detailing Spray na lang in between. Layo po BB dito dahil taga Laguna ako. BTW, Daily drive ko po ito.
Lately, I had some time inspecting it and lo and behold: scratches, swirls and watermarks galore. Inspection was done inside the garage at night underneath a 40w flourescent lamp. Most of the scratches and swirls might have been caused by my dad, sneaking early in the morning to get it cleaned in the neighborhood car wash. He always mentions he brings my things (MF, etc.) for the boys to use, pero di ko naman alam kung tama technique used during cleaning.
Anyway, I am "rehab-ing" on a per panel basis. Started with the mildest/cleaner that I have (Moms Ph1), but for some panels had to go more abrasive (3M Machine Glaze - non filling), and for real bad areas (some parts of the hood, door handles) had to use 3M scratch remover. BTW, all compounds were applied using an orbital with either Megs yellow pad or 3M waffle pads.
My questions:
1. For the panels which were polished using 3M MG, is there value in apply ing Moms Ph1? All panels are free from watermarks and other obvious contamination.
2. I intend to use Fusso Coat (bought from Concorde, I couldn't find anybody who sells Klasse AIO locally) vs. my old routine of using Moms Ph2. Would like to try a more durable alternative. Anyway, would applying Moms Ph1 weaken the bond of Fusso Coat as its chemical composition might not be "compatible" with Moms?
Anyway, to future users of 3M SR: after applying it on heavily scratched panels, it was able to fully remove most visible scratches and swirl marks, but the "depth" of the red color of my MZ3 seem to have been subdued. Moms Ph1 didn't fix it. 3M MG brought the depth back. There might be "micro-marring" induced by 3M SR that needed to be smoothened.
Sorry for the long post. I am thinking this did not deserve a separate post. Thanks.

just this morning tried to detail my ride, ang hirap pala alisin ng IHG, ilang oars po ba ang drying time nito? napagod talaga ako dito
I just bought a 1 lb fire extinguisher for the car. Ang cute niya tingnan. 😁
