Stubby: try to check if your clay bar is still malleable and if you can still it knead it. always keep it sealed tight because that can last you for a long time. and, don't drop it to the ground.. it's gonna keep pick up contaminants.

also, one of the things that needs to be refined is the wash technique.. in this part, marring can be introduced easily if improperly done.

actually, oks yang Mom's Reflection.. ganda-ganda.. hehe ganda i-combo with Soft99.

dehadista: Ano pala maganda pang linis ng interior aside from APC? Specifically the headliner.

ILD: hmm.. dito sa warehouse gamit din namin yang APC for Subic Units.. pang maramihan talaga.. can't think of something more cost effective than this. (aside from good ol' soap and water--but mind you, nakakatakot gamitin ang ganito sa headliner...risk removing the adhesive)

dehadista, noted ko po yung re clay bar. so basically it should really be just like "fresh" clay. thanks! mahal nga kasi at p750 kaya kelangan siguraduhin pag bumili ako mamya. i plan to cut it in 3 pcs, as adviced dito sa thread. oo nga, wag ibagsak! sabi nga sa mothers website eh once you drop it, throw it..period. yikes!

sir, any advice sa washing technique to prevent marring?

ILD, where exactly is the headliner? is this the dash or is it part of it?

Up down and left right motion, and don't forget to apply a good amount of QD.

Yung cieling ng tsikot mo sir.

Where did you read that? Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever leave any product longer that recommended time frame. The 24hrs thing you're mentioning is the normal time for synthetics to bond with itself. Waxes take around 3-5 hrs tops. That is AFTER you removed the product.

White paint is hard, literally. It is harder than most other colors so deeper swirls may be a real pain to remove. So don't bother that much for now. Just keep it clean and protected. I'd skip IHG if I were you since there isn't much depth in the shade anyway.

Dont worry about Mother's clay, they're all pretty new, if not, they'll replace it for free if defects are found.

    Good start bud.

yep..go gently with headliners.. baka matanggal ang adhesive so spritz as you go.

if you're using a brush ingat lang sa himulmol..

mild APC Solution works best for me.

ILD, noted yung washing technique plus qd, thanks. headliner pala tawag don....layo ng akala ko ah

theveed, my understanding on a pure wax is that it produces better results if you buff it after 24 hrs. that's what i meant by the hazing thing. pls correct me if im wrong. thanks.

so i guess my action plan is ok then. sige, i'll do without the IHG muna. i got a clay bar already! also, i got a mothers fx synwax in lieu of the reflections wax. i know you guys vouched for the reflections but the mothers detailer at autoplus highly recommended the synwax kasi mas maganda for white. durability and protection is the same naman daw. its also p950 as compared to p985 for the reflections. did i do the right thing?

you did right.. I use FX Synwax for light colors too.. Synwax is a bit similar to NXT. you'll notice that the top lid of the container is a bit difficult to pour wax with. may booster wax pa yan di ba?

durability wise, siguro a week and a half wala na yung slickness.

Reflections naman for dark. tapos may Reflections TOP Coat pa.. this product I kinda like to play around with.. parang mix and match.

whew...thanks dehadista. wala ako nakitang booster wax nito eh. i was given a mothers pamphlet and all thats there on the fx series is the detailer wax. i hope the qd after washes will help maintain the slickness.

i did notice the difficult lid for pouring. since you use it, how much of the wax do you pour on the applicator (e.g. as small as a 25 centavo coin?) and for how big a surface is this amount good enough for. thanks po!

try to go as thin as possible.. that's why I'd go for Foam Applicator Pads on this one.

you'll just have problems removing a thick layer when a thin one will suffice.

BTW, when it comes to product removal, magaling ang FX dyan. although swirl filling capabilities talo sya sa NXT. Notice that these 2 are quite similar...

Also, Nilipat ko na lang ng container para madali.. something to what Simex offers (yung small catsup bottles..)

Oh forgot to mention... eventually your applicator pad would become saturated with the product so just go minimal on the wax.. yung parang tinitipid.

check out PAD.. andun yung sinasabi ko.

Wow. Daming posts na bago. Hehehe

Stubby: Welcome to the world of detailing! I do have a few tips which I found while learning this hobby (and I'm still learning).

    a) I found the instructions in this thread great for drying your car (Posted by Theveed):
    http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2366

    b) Mejo madali kumapit water spots sa mga windshields ng MZ3 natin. If possible, always clean windshields. Personally I use the following steps to clean the MZ3 windows (done after washing the car):

    1) Spray with diluted APC (or in my case 1/10 Armor All Multipurpose Cleaner + 2/10 Vinegar + 7/10 water) amd wipe off with cloth (cotton or MF, your choice)
    2) Wipe with damp MF or pranela
    3) Wipe with newspaper to remove streaks

    c) For the interiors, I use Armor All Protectant around once a month and a plush MF for removing dust/lint from the dash. If the ceiling gets dirty, again diluted APC (without the vinegar) will help.

    d) As for the KP600 or other ROPs, keep in mind that when you buy one, you'll need to purchase velcro strips (just for the kp600, to be able to attach most polisher/buffing pads), the pads themselves (which can be a little expensive/difficult to find) and an extension cord.

    e) for the types/brands of waxes to use, I normally read around this thread and the following sites:

    PAD
    Autopia (Check out the reviews)

    f) I normally clay around once a month. Moms den gamit ko. Para mapadali trabaho mo, bili ka na lang ng Eagle One's Wet Wipe and shine (Quick Detailer). Its only around 224 pesoses sa mga Blade car accessory stores and slightly more expensive sa Ace or True Value ata. This way, you would not need to rinse after claying. (You would just need to wipe with your MF). You can even dilute it with water para di agad maubos. (Tip from Dehadista) You can also use this to remove new waterspots/bird poo which sometimes are not removed after washing.

When you cannot wash your car, you can just dust it with a CCD (california car duster) and spray with QD to renew your car's shine!

Personally, I use carnauba wax for my MZ3 and I normally wax every week. I wash around twice or thrice a week. These past few days, my car has been really dirty because it has been raining every day. Ayaw ko naman maghugas ng maghugas kasi baka dumami swirl marks ng car ko. Wah!

Gusto ko na rin sumubok ng mga high end synthetics pero inuubos ko muna yung phase 3 ko. ehehe. I am interested to see the look of the reflections combo. Mejo mahal nga lang kasi around 1.8k yung pareho.

How do you classify Nanowax? Carnuba? or Synthetic? It has a microfiber and a foam applicator included. Looks good, can't wait to try it out tomorrow, sana wag umulan
