*water: the suppliers of MF are actually just importers from the US, one is just based here and the other one is based in the US, both of them only sell MF's by the dozen, the foreign one at 100/pc and the second one at 92/pc these are discounted prices already since i got more than 4 dozens from each of them, if you want you could message me and we could share one dozen. If you're after a cheap alternative to a MF cloth for removing wax and buffing polishes, you could try the i-clean brand, its about 130 to 150 bucks, 150 at blade as i remember, and its not bad since its 2 pieces already, their MF's are actually even a bit softer than the Microtex ultra, As for Microtex being a lot more expensive i guess its also because their quality is actually pretty good, its actually good enough to compete with the mid class of foreign good brands like Cobra and Griots. Actually our family knows the owner of Microtex, but he knows i still don't buy all of his products, he offered me a 10% discount on purchases above 2k but i still have to decline since the imported ones i have are quite near their plush towels already.
As for water spots you could use elevo water spot remover, one other thing i do if the car has lots of water spots is do glass polishing, i use the one from simex but not a megs product, its a glass and chrome cleaner, use some carpet rags and some rubber backing pads and scrub the glass until its all clean.
The other cheap alternative to this would be to buy a D'best glass cleaning compound available at most DIY and handyman, get some old thick cotton rag and just make a makeshift rubber backing pad from some old worn out slippers and scrub it the same way but if you're going this route you better have a handy spray bottle with distilled white vinegar on hand and use that to wet the glass surface. But before you start i warn you that this can be very tiring, even more tiring than waxing a whole car for me but it all depends on how much spots and contaminants are on the glass.
I'm not that sure about what rainbow glare is, if its the rainbow colors you see on the glass one a certain angle, it could also be removed by the above mentioned procedure.
*jmpet626: yup i use LC pads, the one on the picture was polished using a Makita9227 + LC yellow cutting pad, compounding step was LC yellow cutting pad + Megs 84, then i tried the LC white polishing pads + Megs 83 but it didn't remove most of the swirls so i switched to LC green light cutting pad + Megs 83. You could have the same results with the PC, it just takes a lot longer but its definitely safer, i've actually tried using a PC first, before i went to rotary due to the amount of defects to be removed and i only have 1 day to play with that car. Have you got your PC already?
