Sir gamit kayo ng distilled or purified drinking water para sa washer fluid nyo para pag natuyo walang maiiwang marks

Thanks for the inputs po BTW, what APC do you recommend? Armorall just doesn't work eh..Ang akala ko sa umpisa gumana na kasi naging black yung surface, nung natuyo yung armorall nandun pa rin..As much as possible kasi kung kaya pa ng DIY, gagawin ko na..

    *jmpet626
I'll try that..Pero paano ba maglinis ng reservoir?

BTW, I think yung plushy part pang wash yun or for drying kasi absorbent yun tapos yung kabila yung non-plushy tingin ko pang remove ng applied wax yun.. just my :twocents:

 guys and happy new year to all

your washer fluid container is accessible upon opening the hood. as to removing the container, good if you can, stir and siphon if you can't.

your microtex MF cloths are color coded and their packaging come with a nice cardboard with color coded instructions.

*tool: sorry for the late reply, those were more of a paint transfer rather than deep scratches, usually if you see some other color on your paint aside from the base color and aside from white chances are its paint transfer, you could remove this using Moms Step 1, or Megs 84 and some MF towel and you just simply rub it off, as for some other blemishes, those were simply uneven paint spots that i leveled out using the same procedure.

*water: Wow i've never seen a TW platinum shampoo, i might go about and look for one and test one as well. As for the MF questions generally there aren't that much differences in terms of using both kinds of MF towels, its just that looped MF towels IMO allow more dirt and particles to be dragged away due to its structure. And as for buffing out waxes, if you're looking at microtex products what i use in their line is the ultra plush/green, i have tons of other MF towels that i use but generally any of the looped or plush type would do the job well. I have like more than 20 brands of different MF towels in my box and nearly all of them are good not to mention i have a MF supplier here and from the US and even though their brands are cheaper than Microtex and Cobra they can still perform well. So bottomline any MF towel would do only difference i see is that plush buffs a lot easier but doesn't hold that much was as compared to the looped type which gets more wax but is a bit tougher when it comes to buffing wax off.

*indiej: i don't know if you could call it detailing but im planning on taking pictures of my car with tree saps and other contaminants, wash and clay and then do a 2x sealant and 2x wax probably after i get well, that or if my condition still doesn't permit me i might have to bring it over to BB since tree saps and bird droppings are really bad for the paint especially if left for a long time. I will post pictures of my projects as well as soon as i get a project car to do, our next detail session would be around late January.

Here's a compounding and polishing step i did last Christmas on a very old corolla, there's a lot of oxidized paint and some light scratches as well as most of the clear coat is already gone so you really can't get it to shine that much but the difference it pretty noticeable.

Before the compound and polish step

After compounding and polishing using Megs 84 and 83

As for the other parts on the after shot where there's a patch of reflection thats dulled, this part was dulled from the start due to my friends carelessness driving her overheated car.

I'll post more when out next detailing session pushes through

*chikselog: currently i use simple green, Megs and Mark V. but for your situation i would recommend you just use simple green since its a lot more gentle and its more economical because they sell Megs and Mark V by the gallons. But we're still not sure as to how far the damage have gone, but try simple green its just about 200 bucks and if it doesn't take it off you could always use it in other parts of the car especially in the interior.

Saan yang microfiber supplier mo at magkano? Kasi mahal nga yung microtex.

About naman sa turtle wax platinum shampoo sa ace megamall available.

Pag sa windshield naman ano pantaggal mo sa waterspots and rainbow glare?

    Salamat ulit

*water: the suppliers of MF are actually just importers from the US, one is just based here and the other one is based in the US, both of them only sell MF's by the dozen, the foreign one at 100/pc and the second one at 92/pc these are discounted prices already since i got more than 4 dozens from each of them, if you want you could message me and we could share one dozen. If you're after a cheap alternative to a MF cloth for removing wax and buffing polishes, you could try the i-clean brand, its about 130 to 150 bucks, 150 at blade as i remember, and its not bad since its 2 pieces already, their MF's are actually even a bit softer than the Microtex ultra, As for Microtex being a lot more expensive i guess its also because their quality is actually pretty good, its actually good enough to compete with the mid class of foreign good brands like Cobra and Griots. Actually our family knows the owner of Microtex, but he knows i still don't buy all of his products, he offered me a 10% discount on purchases above 2k but i still have to decline since the imported ones i have are quite near their plush towels already.

As for water spots you could use elevo water spot remover, one other thing i do if the car has lots of water spots is do glass polishing, i use the one from simex but not a megs product, its a glass and chrome cleaner, use some carpet rags and some rubber backing pads and scrub the glass until its all clean.

The other cheap alternative to this would be to buy a D'best glass cleaning compound available at most DIY and handyman, get some old thick cotton rag and just make a makeshift rubber backing pad from some old worn out slippers and scrub it the same way but if you're going this route you better have a handy spray bottle with distilled white vinegar on hand and use that to wet the glass surface. But before you start i warn you that this can be very tiring, even more tiring than waxing a whole car for me but it all depends on how much spots and contaminants are on the glass.

I'm not that sure about what rainbow glare is, if its the rainbow colors you see on the glass one a certain angle, it could also be removed by the above mentioned procedure.

*jmpet626: yup i use LC pads, the one on the picture was polished using a Makita9227 + LC yellow cutting pad, compounding step was LC yellow cutting pad + Megs 84, then i tried the LC white polishing pads + Megs 83 but it didn't remove most of the swirls so i switched to LC green light cutting pad + Megs 83. You could have the same results with the PC, it just takes a lot longer but its definitely safer, i've actually tried using a PC first, before i went to rotary due to the amount of defects to be removed and i only have 1 day to play with that car. Have you got your PC already?

*chickselog: i got mine from Handyman and from TV rockwell. yup its the spray type, i think if its on sale its just 200 and as far as i remember its always on sale hehe, the good thing is if it doesn't work, you have a very effective interior stain remover and a chemical resistant spray bottle. most spray bottle that i buy from the supermarkets break down after sometime i guess its because its not chemical resistant. however my simple green and mr muscle spray bottles still work fantastic.

i only use MC multipurpose cleaner + old toothbrush for this problem. then apply Armor-All protectant Gel. for the heavy watermarks sa wipers ng old car ko, Back to Black works well ren for me..

    HTH somehow.

Wet sand with 2000 grit sandpaper (basain po ung liha) then use 3M rubbing compound then use 3M polishing compound. Read instructions na lng kung paano i apply mga 3M products. Sa ACE hardware meron.

BTW, I used to be a bodyman and painter sa states. Sa lahat po ng may mga katananungan sa automotive paint and body repair feel free to ask me.

    Hi madkatz,

You've been very busy! Good work by the way.

What kinds of lighting do you use to check your progress during paint correction?

*water: tried that shampoo already, its not bad, nice lubricity and its main selling point is that its biodegradable thats basically it. as for the syringe thing, i actually don't use one, what i do is just apply all kinds of waxes and sealants sparingly. As for paste waxes i use foam pad applicators since its a lot easier to spread them using foam pads, and as for hand applying them as long as i see a thin film on the paint i try to spread it even more and i only stop when the foam pad no longer spreads smoothly and when there are no longer any thin films that i can see.

*jmpet626: wow thats some nice shine, and nice combination of cleaner wax + wax and sealant.

*praetor: the damage of water drying on paint would mainly depend on how good the paint condition is, if you still have a lot of clear coat then your car should be able to hold up for quite some time but eventually repeated instances would lead to clear coat failure, as for the damages water can do to the paint, this can also be reduced when you wax your car, regularly putting on some wax or sealant would greatly reduce the chances of drying water to penetrate through the wax or sealant and if done regularly then you have a regular dose of sacrificial layer before the drying water damages your paint, during rainy seasons i would actually recommend using some water beading waxes since using them would mean less water on the paint and the smaller the beads the faster they dry as compared to large water beads. and yeah basically what chickselog said is right. As for me when it comes to washing cars in the sun when i have no choice like when i was in bacolod, what i did was rinse the whole body, wash the body starting with the roof, hood and trunk, rinse again, start with one side of the car and then rinse again and then go to the other side before i rinse again. this was something i learned from meguiars in simex, they actually don't have a roof in their washing area but they compensate it by rinse frequently after a few panels, this way they said that the paint would always remain wet and constant rinsing would lessen the chances for water spots to dry and frequent rinsing also flushes away dust and dirts carried by the wind.

Hope this helps, and thanks for the help BTW it was so useful now i get to post pics here, thanks a lot!

IME, the Optimum No Rinse Wash and Shine really helped whenever I had to do a quick wash under the sun. Through a no-rinse wash you would avoid having water spots since you're doing the washing and drying stages for each panel.

I'm wondering how this compares to the Mothers Chrome Polish?
