Hi Mr. Spectral;

I thought we are just here to create a stir.... and have some fun while at it. I never knew some people are taking it too seriously... I have the impression you are taking this too seriously. Who says we were looking for a financer?... If your aiming to kill the enthusiasm then I must say - you are a very sad - sad man.

What is your objective in mocking this thread? what do you intend to achieve? If you will stop people from dreaming, what will you benefit out of it? If you can't say something encouraging to the group - might as well keep your peace and stay silent.

If you can come up with something nice to say - then, by all means - you are more than welcome.

Let me ask you something... why spend time here if you think we are nobody's...

You said so yourself, we are amateurish - So WHAT?

Pobre na nga kami - pipigilan mo pang mangarap - eh libre lang naman ito?

Napakalupit mo naman... did you have a happy childhood? I guess not.

By the way... we are not looking for financers... we are just scouting for Pinoy Talents... sorry - you were mislead by your analysis.

You can add that to your report.

And thank you for dropping by... it is definitely a very revealing feedback.

You are always welcome here... you know - it's the darker shades that makes us appreciate the lighter ones. Ikanga - hindi nga naman masaya kung lahat kami dito nagbobolahan sa isat isa... kelangan merong miron... or dapat meron kumukontra... dahil kung wala - we will never find out if we are really diamonds in the rough.

Rest assure, I don't take your comments personally... and as a matter of fact - it is appreciated. Medyo mabagsik lang kasi ang dating mo kaya kami nakakapag react ng ganito.

No offense taken... Back to regular programming.

Hi, spectral.
You obviously have not understood the etiquette of this online community.
We encourage respect for one another, greater respect for moderators and most especially for administrators/owners of Tsikot.com.
Allow me to serve you the first warning. Please learn not to antagonize your fellow tsikoteers.
You have just done exactly that to an administrator, and that's quite serious.
Moreover, criticisms bereft of recommendations are not constructive, and are tolerated here only momentarily.
I regret to have to inform you that next time, you will be suspended from this Forum.

Spectral,

When we launched tsikot.com and other sites way back 2002, I am a total broke person, i resigned from my job to be able to devote my full time and thats 12 to 16 hours a day for this website doing research and marketing and on how to make this website to become the biggest virtual home for the Filipino Car enthusiasts... we dont have funding during that time, all we have is a credit card of my partner... for 2 years we spent around almost 200,000 pesos using that credit card for hosting server cost, software license and opetional cost.. not to include the time we spen tfor this website. Butto we keep on dreaming... and we hold on to that dreams and vision that time will come... Tsikot.com will be the biggest automotive community for pinoys all over the world. (note: we are now a debt free company)

And for the record... mr. spectral... Tsikot.com is currently the biggest, the fastest growing and it even became the home away from home of our fellow pinoys and ofw around the globe.

If we didnt hold on to that dream... tsikot.com might not excist anymore... kung sumuko kami sa vision na yun... baka walang forums ngayon kung saan nagpopost ka ngayon. Thanks to the volunteers, members and moderators who believed in us and for helping us to achieve this status.

Now... we are starting to dream again... this time... hindi lang dalawang tao.. nagmultiply na... Tsikot.com made it possible for people with the same interest, ideas and vision to join together to start the Tsikot PhUV project... the good thing is,,, hindi kami ang nagsimula as owners of tsikot... members with the same vision mismo ang nagsimula nito...

So what kung wala pang funding sa ngayon... so what kung hindi mabuo ang tsikot phuv... so what kung puro drawing pa lang sa ngayon...

hindi man mabuo and tsikot phuv sa ngayon.. the basic idea will still be there... he vision and the same dream will be passed onto others... maybe not on this generation... but this i can promise you... all the data for tsikot phuv will become available to people with same the same vision... coz tsikot.com will always be here and future generations will surely benefit from it... oh... i forgot to tell you that members of the phuv team eh nasa HOT stage pa ng kanilang buhay hehehe... and we even have active members here na wala pang 18 years old... di pa man natatapos ang generation namin... mayron na agad kasunod....

I dont care if this project will took a lifetime... so be it.. ang importante meron naglakas ng loob sumubok.... this will be our legacy in life. Lubog na ang Pilipinas sa industry na ito... there is now way but UP.

now tell me mr spectral... are you still going to question our faith for our dreams? Nasabi mo na lahat ng gusto mong sabihin... thats enough already... alam namin ang realidad... alam naming wala pang funds... di mo na kailangang ulit ulitin pa. But this will not hinder us for continouing this project.

This is a dedicated and sponsored forum for tsikot phuv... any attacks or insult against this project will be considered as an attack to this community... the moderator incharge of this dedicated forum has given the rights to decide kung ano gagawin.

Now, the ratification of JPEPA will definitely annihilate whatever is left of our pathetic local auto industry (zero tariff to CBU of Japan.paano local manufacturers? wholesale na talaga pagbebenta sa PInas...)..I hope the senators will not ratify it because only Japan will benefit from it.

Santiago sees ‘dead’ JPEPA if gov’t won’t explain benefits

MANILA, Philippines -- Round 2 went to oppositors of the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA) Thursday as government negotiators failed anew to answer basic questions from senators on the benefits of the treaty to the country.

Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago, chairman of the committee on foreign relations, has threatened to sit on the JPEPA and not sponsor it on the floor, which would effectively make for a diplomatic rejection of the treaty.

During the hearing, Santiago told government negotiators, headed by Trade Undersecretaries Thomas Aquino and Elmer Hernandez: “If I find it impossible to defend it on the Senate on the basis of your statement, then as chair, I will be compelled to defer submission of my committee reports. In other words, JPEPA will be dead.”

This after Senator Manuel Roxas II failed to get answers to the following questions:
• What is government doing to help people take advantage of the JPEPA? “I want to know were, what, and what sectors…will be able to take this stepladder...to the window opened by the JPEPA?”
• What are the benefits of the JPEPA? “[What the government presented] are pie in the sky numbers based on leads, inquiries, and letters. I want the records of the BOI [Board of Investments] and DTI [Department of Trade and Industry] of what actually came in. A lot of the decisions depend on the validity of your claims of benefits,” Roxas said.
• How much did the Philippines give up to get these benefits?

“In the last hearing, I was left disappointed because it has been made clear why it is good for us…We are finished with the period of generalities. We want to move…to specifics,” Roxas said.

The government claims that the treaty will result from 2007 to 2010 in P7.7 billion in total revenues, P364.9 billion in foreign direct investments, and 221,000 additional jobs.

Roxas asked the government panel why the Philippines did not contest the exclusion of some 600 products in the exemption list to tariff reduction or elimination.

When told that most of those that were given away were not important to the Philippines, Roxas lost his cool and rejected the explanation.

“In any negotiation, there is a give and take and we expect that for every give, there’s a get,” he said.

Roxas heads the committee on trade and commerce, which co-chairs the JPEPA hearings with the committee on foreign relations.

“If this were a boxing match, round 2 again went to the oppositors of the treaty…It gets worser and worser as Alice said in Alice in Wonderland…I refuse to crucify myself and defend it on the Senate floor. I will go up in flames,” Santiago told reporters after the hearing.

Describing government’s non-response in the hearing as “surreal,” Santiago said the government panel only presented theoretical benefits of the treaty “far removed from the world of economic realities.”

She said that for the second time, the oppositors presented a clearer picture of why they wanted the treaty rejected.

One of them, lawyer Mimi Sison of the Green Initiatives Inc., pointed out the constitutional violations that would be committed with the treaty’s ratification.

“Why is it better for the Philippines? We don’t want to know Japan’s gains and losses. We want to know the benefits to the country in exchange for all the concessions we are making,” Sison said.

Thus, Santiago said she would add another discussion on the constitutionality of the treaty, where among those invited would be Professor Merlin Magallona. She also announced that the hearing on the environmental aspects of the JPEPA would be moved to next week as other senators would be leaving for abroad.

During the same hearing, Lawyer Golda Benjamin of the Junk JPEPA Coalition told the Senate that the country's negotiators “wrongly and criminally” use a Japanese macroeconomic study to defend the treaty.

Benjamin said the paper, called the Kawasaki document prepared by Japan 's Research Institute on Economy, Trade, and Industry, was “made by the Japanese for the Japanese.”

She asked why the government negotiators were using Japanese estimates when they did not present Philippine interest.

Santiago ordered the government negotiators to respond to the accusations in the next hearing.

The Senate, which is conducting weekly hearings on the bilateral treaty, has the power to ratify or reject the agreement.

The JPEPA, The Local auto Industry and the Tsikot PHUV.

As what I argued before the Senate started to conduct hearings on JPEPA--JPEPA is nothing more but a HARA-KIRI for the Philippines and for the local auto industry.

The government it seems is starting to sell us wholesale to foreign interests--onerous open sky agreement with South Korea and other countries, ZTE deal, and now JPEPA.

The local auto industry, for crying out loud, is almost dead. When a country does not manufacture its own vehicle needs anymore, and all its auto requirements are satisfied by CBUs or imports/smuggled vehicles--the local auto industry is dead indeed. CAMPI should stop using the word 'manufacturers' because they are nothing more but mere Japanese, Korean and European auto beauty parlors. Thousands of jobs were already lost and more are lost because these companies are more concerned with earning mega profits than helping the local industry. Ang problema lalo lang lumalala sitwasyon. Despite there herculean effort of CAMPI to increase vehicle sales in the country, ganun parin.

Ang majority nung 100,000+ na sales ng CAMPI are commercial vehicles or cars for fleet use. Ngayon the remaining percentage, are for private use. In other words, only a minute segment of the Pinoy population enjoy the so-called local industry. So, do the majority of the Pinoys benefit from this prevailing situation in our local auto industry? Definitely, NOT.

For the meantime, pinapatay pa ang ibang industriyang PInoy ng wanton importations (ukay-ukay, smuggled vehicles). Patay na nga local industries papatayin pa ng JPEPA. So if you are a concerned Pinoy, we have to PROTECT OUR INTERESTS FIRST. Yung Iba, akala mo hindi Pinoy na kapag binanggit mo nasyonalismo para ka nang komunista.

The JPEPA treaty is a document with Japanese ultra-nationalism written all over it. It is meant for the survival of a dying economy, highly dependent on international trade and international blackmail.

The MVPMAP and the Tsikot PhUV are our last stand against this malady were majority of the Pinoys do not enjoy the benefits of a "local industry" like the local auto industry.

W have to move now before it's too late. Most countries are already consolidating their resources to prepare for a more competitive global economy.

Tayo, wala. Ibibigay pa ang sovereignty natin sa Japan.

I, you
