mike01, bakit parang nadiskaril na naman kayo? Clarification po ulit.
1) Pinaghalo niyo na naman yung MVPMAP at Tsikot PhUV. Please realize na magkaiba ito, and get out of your confusion. Yung MVPMAP PhUV thread is in http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33667.
2) This is an opensource DESIGN thread. Kaya maraming discussions (aka 'salita') kasi nagdidisenyo pa tayong mga tsikoteers dito. This is not a marketing or biz thread. Hindi pa tapos yung design natin, kaya wala pa talagang ibebenta na Tsikot.ph PhUV. MVPMAP will launch their PhUV on June 12. Yun na lang siguro ang abangan niyo.
3) This is also an advocacy forum in favor of Original Pilipino Vehicles (OPV), so your posts are absolutely out of topic, out of sync, and totally out of place.
Your last two posts are noticeably out of character, kasi :obvious: biglang nagflip-flop ang tono ng pananalita niyo kumpara sa dati. So a piece of advice is please "Don't drink before you post". Medyo marami kayong nasasagasaan sa kalsadang ito.

I am sending out this email because I know that each one of us can make a difference.

A few months ago, along with my fellow automotive parts makers at the MVPMAP (Motor Vehicle Parts Makers Association of the Philippines, a non-profit organization), we decided that we would build a Filipino vehicle: for Pinoys, by Pinoys and from Philippine made parts. We knew it was a difficult task, especially considering we had to do it on our own, with most of our member firms at the brink of closure. We needed this to work because our factories (over 50,000 Filipino workers) need the volumes to continue operating.

How could this be with all the vehicles on the road? It is a common misconception that because there are more vehicles on the road, automotive related businesses were doing well. It is a very sad fact that most of the vehicles you see on our streets are entirely imported (whether brand new or surplus or converted) or if assembled in the Philippines they contain very few Philippine made parts.

Last week, we finally did it. There is a red AUV prototype sitting in our parking lot, waiting for the Philippines to gaze upon her. (We plan to mass produce and sell this vehicle for P350,000 to 400,000.)

This brings me to why I am telling you all this…we need all the help. We want to give our first truly Pinoy vehicle to have a fitting launch this Philippine Independence Day (June 12). We want to show everyone that the Philippine auto parts industry can do it! I am listing our needs and attaching letters and fact sheets which you might need.

Please help us. Pass this on to people you know can help.

AFAIK, the Tsikot parking lot is in cyberspace, so there can only be two parking lots she is referring to. That means she is either connected to Francisco Motors or MDJuan. Pwede rin naman yung parking lot sa MVPMAP offices in Pasig.
My guess is as good as yours.

Let's just wait for Independence Day. :freedom: If they launch it on June 12, mabigat ang signal nun sa bigboys. IMO they should launch it either in Balintawak or the Aguinaldo Shrine. Sana flag colors, instead of red, kasi kung red siya, pagkatapos sa Luneta pa naglaunch, masyadong malapit sa Embassy - baka kailangan ng rally permit. :hysterical:

But whatever it might look like, it will have my fullest moral support. I will reserve any criticisms to myself.
Whatever reservations I might have about it will be translated into a greater effort in designing Tsikot's own PhUV. :kick:

well..your post looks like you have just given them a sugestion for the #2 part - free and accessible venue for launch.
is there gonna be a pro-filipino rally? yung walang political bias? dyan dapat yan i-launch. may TV coverage pa na free.

I think we should all laud and support the efforts of MVPMAP inasmuch as their objective is basically the same as most of the readers' in this thread. Of course, the big difference is that they have actually gone ahead and produced a prototype while the tsikot group is still in the designing stage and others still in the same ranting, we-can't-do-it mindset.

While some of us may not agree with the approach MVPMAP may have taken (as implied in this thread and an earlier thread), we nevertheless should give credit where credit is due. Because inspite of all the delays and what-nots, whatever progress MVPMAP makes with its efforts will surely pave the way and make it easier for succeeding groups, including the tsikot group, to succeed. If only for that, we should be grateful.

The vibe I got was that Mister Mike (of the 100K used car thread) is just an over-opinionated guy who pulls priceless "gems" out his ass.

This is also the fellow who said that the Picanto and Getz are overhyped and overpriced compared to the Suzuki/Maruti Alto. Probably without driving or even getting into any of them.

regarding the last sketch posted by sir oyil....it seems to be in the same length as the anfra transporter..isn't it? I think it would be more advisable kung kasing length lang sya ng revo, crosswind..or at the most, ung innova.....this will ensure that mas madali syang i-maneuver especially jan sa manila na very crowded ang mga roads...lalo na ung mga hindi major arteries.....then magkaron na lang ng two models...a 3-door model (targeted for transport groups with seat arrangement similar to jeepneys) and 5-door model(multi-market target with seat arrangement similar to most AUV's or better yet, seat arrangement of the 5-door model will have 2 options).....

Thanks for the input. Actually in determining the overall dimensions of the PhUV, we considered the requirements of the target market (mainly OCWs and entrepreneurs), both within Manila and in the provinces. One requirement that we often heard from those in the provinces is the ability to transport 4x 8 boards (plywood, lawanit, hardiflex, g.i. sheets, etc.) efficiently - which means loading them flat on the bed. Thus, the overall dimensions, including length, were heavily influenced by this criterion.

Another requirement that was consistently brought up (both in Manila and in the provinces) was the ability to transport a maximum number of passengers. However as you indicated, maneuverability is an important issue. Thus, the dimensions have to adhered at most close to a mid-sized SUV while still fulfilling the first criterion.

As for models, there is no one model that can serve the total market. By making our PhUV configurable (van, AUV, jeepney, pick-up), we can at least extend our target market range.

For the commuter-type market, we are actually considering an inexpensive three-wheeler type. Note operative word - considering.
