May 2nd, 2007 08:08 PM #393nabasa ko sa isang site that there are 100 car manufacturers in china and at least ive seen 10 of them and their cars.halos lahat ng design ay kopya sa MERCEDES BENZ,GM,TOYOTA..and surprisingly at very low prices kung ikukumpara sa mga big manufacturers.hindi ba natin kayang gawin ang ginagawa nila?

May 2nd, 2007 08:15 PM #394masyadong consious ang pinoy sa intellectual property rights unlike sa taiwan and china....as such okay lang sa kanila mangopya than have the "think" power to do their own design and stuff....

May 2nd, 2007 09:35 PM #395In order for any for any product to be SUSTAINABLE, you have to approach it from the cost perspective. Or else it would not stand the competition and die a natural death (like past local AUV projects).
My job requires me to be a REALIST and not create false hopes and promises. Would you guys rather hear me say that "PhUV will be a world-beating automobile with quality at par with the major carmakers at half the price!", or would you rather hear the REAL score.
At this point in time when the PhUV prototype is already made and ready to be presented, dprox is still looking for "DESIGN SOLUTIONS using UNCONVENTIONAL approaches".
Guys, lets just wait for the PhUV prototype and you will see that my professional assesment is correct. I kid you not.

May 2nd, 2007 10:02 PM #396Hi Hein,
Knowing now your background has made me appreciate more your comments in this thread. I don’t doubt your expertise in this matter. But I think there is a little bit of confusion here.
I believe the PhUV prototype you are referring is the one MVPMAP is working on. I believe this is the one you are waiting for.
We, on the other hand, are discussing a PhUV which we plan to design and build. It is actually an offshoot of the current MVPMAP efforts. That is why we are behind them in schedule. MVPMAP was supposed to present their prototype last month. The tsikot group on the other hand is still in the design phase; hence dprox is currently looking at alternative approaches.
While both projects aim to produce a PhUV, the underlying objectives are very different. Perhaps if you have the time, I’d suggest you read the whole tread and the previous one, Pinoy Utility Vehicle Bibili Ba Kau?, in order to better appreciate the collective mindset of the posters here. And just perhaps, you might change your mind and decide to help us. We could certainly use someone with your expertise.

May 2nd, 2007 10:13 PM #397Just an addendum, Hein –
We do not plan to design a build a Porsche or a Ferrari – we do not even aspire to build a “breakthrough” vehicle as you term it. We are just trying to build an affordable and dependable PhUV – one that will fill the needs and requirements of the Pinoy who may not otherwise be able to buy one.
It need not be flashy or sleek. Never mind if it won’t have the curves and the bells and the whistles. But if it will be able to transport an extended family of seven or eight to their destination safely, then it is of use to our target market. If it can deliver a pile of hardiflex boards day in day out, then it is of use to our target market. If it can haul the day’s catch or the freshly picked fruits to the market every morning, then it is of use to our target market.
Beauty is not essential (though desirable) for what we want to achieve. Affordability and reliability are. And we are addressing both issues in ways that go beyond just designing and producing the PhUV.

Hi ocanursjr.
Matagal ko nang inaadhika na dapat magkaroon tayo ng sariling disenyo, sasakyang Pinoy ang disenyo, gawa ng Pinoy, para sa Pinoy. Last year lang kumilos ang MVPMAP.
Sa totoo lang, I offered to help MVPMAP (email ko pa yung article ko on the native auto industry), but they didn't even give me the courtesy of a reply. Either masyadong busy to look more closely, or meron na silang pet designs, or di nila matanggap yung ideas, or hindi sila buo.
:hysterical:Last edited by dprox; May 3rd, 2007 at 01:25 AM.

Hi rmb.
As we expected, MVPMAP did not deliver on the target date. For my take on the delay, go back to http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showt...481#post797481.
And just to be sure, please don't confuse MVPMAP's PhUV with the one we tsikoteers are opensource-designing here. The Tsikot PhuV is on a different time frame.

Hi treebarkgem. Please don't apologize.
