This is a public forum, and the PhUV isn't exactly a national security issue. The last thing we need is someone telling us what to say or do when no terms of use are being violated.

It is actually rather unnerving for people to think that we're here to target the PhUV. It incidentally just happens to be the topic at hand.

I do know how it is to have one's work be subjected to criticism. It requires immaturity not to expect it and amateurism not to listen to it.

architect, you claim that your mission is to partly protect the reputation of Tsikot.com by telling people to stop posting their protestations regarding the PhUV. Its hypocrisy to expect people to be objective while telling them to shut up about being critical over something so revolting and unsafe.

Nothing you've said addresses as to why the MPVMAV decided to put the wrong foot forward. If their mission was to spur public interest, they should have employed all available sciences and materials. The sheer lack of leadership and vision will not get them any more support from within their group or from the buying/looking public.

A paper launch and a 3D model would have been more palatable.

The only thing you appear to be saving is your reputation with the MPVMAV.

    Really objective.

Don't start flaming people and then PM'ing them in a plea for diplomacy. You're really making me think some parts of your anatomy aren't so fully descended yet.

Now, go forth and multiply by yourself.

hein, I like your acute eye for detail. Don't let people like architect discourage you by branding it as crab mentality. That is the recourse of the weak willed patrons of mediocrity.

Don't be too quick to be judgmental. Both Tsikot and Dprox saw and read the flame-baiting remark that was since edited. Consult them first before you make your conclusions.

Surprised it didn't occur to you that they both saw my posts earlier than you and neither deemed it necessary to issue an infraction.
For your information, the infraction was for implying that EVO was an ASS.

I saw the original posts before it was edited by dprox (around 2:30PM) and I have also monitored this thread from the start. As a moderator of all the forums here, I have the authority to pass judgement on any post made.

Tsikot & dprox may have just overlooked it, but I won't speak for them. I saw what was posted and acted upon it. It is that simple.

EVO-V, I think that you have already made your point. May I suggest that you tone down your comments also.

I never implied he was an ASS. I was merely citing an example to indicate his lack of comprehension skill. But of course, as moderator, it is your perogative to conclude that as an allusion to him for whatever reasons you may have.

For the record, neither tsikot nor dprox overlooked it. I was in discussion with them almost immediately after and they fully understood the message I was conveying. Thus, neither concluded it was an infraction.

    look who's not flaming, now...

anyway, this is one of the reasons that this thread should be closed by tomorrow.

but in fairness, architect requested me via PM not to close this thread.

i agree that architect did go beyond his bounds in calling you names, evo.

but please, don't feign innocence that you're not guilty of the same offense too... though, architect was more direct.

so if the super mod has given architect an infraction, you deserve one too.

anyway, at the rate this thread is going, it will be no wonder if this thread won't see the light of day tomorrow.

    doc tsikot,

IMO... I would not like to see this thread get closed since I believe that this will just die a natural death after some time. There had been more "colorful" threads than this that I have moderated and after some intervention it was all back to normal.

    On a related note...

Arguments are welcome here... that is what keeps the forums alive and kicking. I do love a good debate but I frown upon taking things too personally. After all, this is just an automotive forum right?

    Edit:

Soft deleting the last comment of EVO-V, another infraction for you. Soft deleting the reply of architect.

I've never feigned innocence, but I am entitled to react to his despotic inclinations, aren't I?

architect also PM'd me after he decided to inflame the situation too.

My comprehension skills are fine, unless we're failing to see something here, he just took yet another snipe at yours truly. If I were more direct I would gladly use invectives to describe what architect would otherwise uninspiringly say, i.e. stupid and lacking in comprehension.

I am also willing to question if he has absolutely no vested interest in this whole thing. His social proximity to the PhUV fabricators is compromising his objectivity and I maintain he has no right to impose such regimes on the people participating in this forum and should have been stomped on the first time he did try to impose it.

absolutely, arguments are always welcome here... healthy, constructive, productive and invigorating. you are right, they add color to the community and make tsikot, tsikot.

however, this thread is different. this is not just an ordinary 'chismis' discussion, or a fight between automobile brands, or even about professions and salaries members here are receiving.

this is about an advocacy that tsikot.com has adopted... the first real, live and breathing advocacy that we intend to see through.. not just pay it lip service, massage it a bit, and just throw it into the archives (of both our forums and minds) as if there was none at all...

tsikot fully supports the PhUV project, no matter whose it is, the MVPMAP's or our very own or any other party's. the purpose of this thread is for tsikoteers and everyone to give their inputs and feedback (the reason for the title) on the prototype that the MVPMAP group has thrusted into the public for scrutiny, acceptance or rejection.

the community has done this... they have given their feedback and gave well: suggestions, comments, recommendations, drawings, photos even destructive criticisms.

however, this colorful discussion has mutated to something different, far removed from its original objective. it has become a battlefield for several personalities, pitting members against members, moderators against members, even co-administrators are debating this very issue at this moment.

in my honest opinion, this thread has outlived its purpose. it has already achieved its objective of being the platform for feedback on the MVPMAP PhUV.

we intend to see the PhUV project through... for the sole reason that we believe in it.

    *Evo-V

Question as much as you do, the people in the core group know where I am coming from. I only met the MVPMAP guys after the tsikot group got started.

Again, if you re-read the thread, it is becoming obvious that you have mistaken me for one of the moderators. How can I censor, delete, edit the posts of others when I am a mere member of the forum? As it is, one of the moderators just gave me an infraction.

I PM'd you a reconciliatory note as I realized on-line personal arguments are detrimental to the PhUV project and to tsikot.com. You chose to reject the offer and instead attacked me again in the forum. So what did you achieve?

You rant against the pending closure of this thread. And I agree you with you on that count. That is why i PM'd you an offer of peace - in the interest of the tsikot community at large because the thread, for all the rants, bashing, and stuff, is actually informative and helpful to all concerned. That's why I PM'd tsikot and requested him not to close the thread.

But by your very behavior, you are forcing the moderators to close it. So what did you achieve?

    EVO-V,

As I have said, you already made you point before. The moderators & admin will take it from there - thank you. There is no need to get so worked up about it as your "reaction" just caused more friction here in the boards.

As you can see, I have been defending from the start the right of all forumers to make their comments (whether negative or positive) about the PHUV. I don't think that we are lacking in that area.

If you have other qualms with anyone (this is also applicable to everyone), take it through the PM or send us a note. We will deal with it accordingly and properly.
