i prefer it to be boxy.
something like a scion BB.
but i like the rear lights.
yon lang.
congrats na rin sa MVMAP
for the effort. but definitely
still a very long way to go.
i don't think they can come
up with an entirely new idea.
nothing's new under the sun.
mas maganda pa nga ang morales.
kaya lang eto yata ang pinakamahal
na jeep. afair, 400K na siya nung
year 2000. pero talagang patok!
di nga lang kaya mag-drift kaya
marami ang tumataob. hehehe.
im so sorry for this comment. pero di ko nagustuhan porma. excited pa naman ako. saka ang mahal sa presyo nya. i hope yung mga susunod na labas is magaganda na. saka yung headlight bat ganun?
Reminds me of a Scion xB; I actually had lower design expectations for this thing. Personally, it's not that disappointing; just think that they have to start somewhere.![]()
I like the ride height, judging from what I can see. And if there are at least side impact beams encased within those doors, then I could probably prefer this over the jeepney. And yes, maybe MVPMAP could price this a little more competitively, but who knows.
Does anyone have the complete technical specs?

It DOES look like an Anfra! They sloped the front more, improved the interior, and added some quasi-SUV features but the ANFRA influence is quite obvious.
Most of us I think WANT this project to take off -- BADLY. I think kaya madaming reactions na negative. It's not negativism per se but a desire to see the project TAKE OFF rather than hop a little then splat.
Pero sana kung may critiques, may suggestions din na specific on how to improve kasi kung wala, kibitzing lang yun.
I surely think the improved interior is a step in the right direction. Where they went wrong is the exterior and it's 2-fold. The Anfra influence, I feel, is NOT the way to go. If it were, it'd still be around, wouldn't it? To eradicate such an influence baka dapat kung may hold-over ANFRA people sa design team eh i-retire na muna. Kung hindi naman puwede, go for a somewhat rounded over-all shape while retaining the sharper slope. Boxy is so 80s after all.
Secondly, it's a huge step from ANFRA/AUV to SUV. They might do better to adopt Innova/Avanza accents rather than SUV. Not only are they trying too hard to be SUV-like, which the market can feel at a glance, it's not even really a SUV! If it's a van, they shouldn't force it to look like a SUV -- it should look like a VAN.
As to the internals, kung chinese yung makina, baka they can look at korean engines kung mahal masyado ang jap. Mas advanced pa ang Hyundai CRDi, IMHO, kesa sa Toyota, and it MIGHT still come out affordable.
I, too, would like the PHUV to fly. I believe if we can adopt the above, it'll have a better chance.
That's one UGLY vehicle. It doesn't even know what say. A VAN or an SUV?
Remember, pag may nabangga na Gemini taxi, ginagawa eh nilalagay nila harap ng Toyota at likod (early 90s) para magmukhang modelo? Same thing with this PHUV. Nothing has changed. It's still ANFRA looking to me with the "pilit" mods.
That's the problem with us: crucial planning and development. I think they cut costs on the design and construction to "gain" profits right away, take example the Chinese engine. Who needs Chinese engines? Even better who put those Chinese engines in the first place? He must be hanged in public.
And what's that cigarette burn on the steering wheel? And bad upholstery at the back? This is suppose to be a "LAUNCH".
Everything was done fast, cheap and haphazardly, add it with THE classic Pinoy, "Pwede Na Yan!" mentality, this PHUV is fast going to the drains.
They should have delayed it and posted a prototype for public scrutiny before launching it.
And the price? I'd rather buy a 2nd hand Civic. I can sleep well.
I wish I'm wrong. I hope they improve on this. A MAJOR overhaul.
PHUV. I think a lot of people have opinions on how to make the car better and how to make the car cheaper. Perhaps if you like to help them with your comments, you should visit their website. www.mvpmap.com and find out how to help out. If you have done a prototype in your life, you know this group spent mucho dinero for this one.
In all things, some will like it and some won't. This design is for the C and D market. It's boxy because if you're in manufacturing, nice curves means expensive dies.![]()
I like the idea of design contest, San Francisco Motors has joined the PHUV and will launch their own version. More models the better.
Regarding good second hand from Philippines is okay but good second hand from Subic or imported, converted vehicles is just a waste of money. How many accidents do we have already involving those? Burning vans in the middle of the road, veering off to the left instead of right when you let go of your steering wheel, pollution it contributes since it doesn't comply with new laws. Do we really want to be the garbage dumping ground of all the used cars instead of making our own? Kahit crude and monster, at least it's our own and we help other Filipino's in having jobs para makabili naman ng binebenta mong product, whatever that may be.
The design sketch shown looked amazing but the finished product looks different. What happened wala kayong moulding machine...Just like the old Anfra box type ang dating... Sana meron aerodynamics curvature body baga.......Ano kaya ang underchassis nito... plain I-beam. Hope ma improve nila yung body design.... Sorry guys.....not what I expect.![]()
Regarding engines. A japanese model engine and power train for this type of vehicle will set you back 280,000 to 320,000. If you have a source that is cheap and reliable, perhaps you should contact them.

Sad to say about the classic "Pwede Na Yan" mentality.I dont know why we cant move on.Dont blame "Crab Mentality".Tlaga nmang napakapangit nitong PHUV.Its not worth to buy this monster looking vehicle.I know its only a prototype but they have to think of the global market. Its not gonna sell if they stick with their prototype. We all know the competing market were in now.Sabi nga ng Briton na si Simon Cowell,"its rubbish".Sana me sumagot na Americano na "you aint see nothing yet"...Ano nman kaya isasagot ng pinoy?Pag isipan ntin kung ano ang sagot...![]()
actually it's an optical illusion. magkalevel kasi ung shot ng 1st and 2nd row seats. the headrests are located at the front row seats. alang headrest ung 2nd row. please refer sa mga other pictures kung di convincing ung angle sa iyo.
*drey: please bring unan, kumot and glue kung balak mong matulog sa seats. kaka addict upuan.![]()
Damn, son! Where'd you find this?
