and what if walang AC oto mo hehe labo nila, daming loopholes. I mean, a guy with R12 can simply make "singaw" his freon prior to checking or disable the compressor and tell the inspector the car's AC isn't used etc etc...

naku, yung ride namin pre-1999 model pa! and its true come 2006, hindi na bibigyan ng registration ang cars equipped with R12 model na AC.

yeah, ano ba kailangang palitan para maging R134 model? tulong zeagle!

LTO to reject cars with old aircon units
    By Trapik.com staff
    Posted : 6/8/2005

Consider getting a new aircon unit for your car.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) announced that the Land Transportation Office (LTO) will reject the registration of vehicles which do not use non-chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) agents in their car’s air-conditioning unit starting next year, January 1, 2006.

According to the DENR, the move will be done in an effort to fulfill the government’s commitment with the 1988 Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer to phase out the use of ozone depleting substances (ODS).

The Philippines is expected to complete the phase out by year 2010.

The use of CFCs in the aircon systems is a violation of the Clean Air Act. Motorists are advised to shift to HFC (hydrofluorocarbon) instead of CFCs.

    is this true?
