August 15th, 2013 06:38 PM #1Please help po. I have a toyota altis 2003 model. Problem po is yung radiator fan di tumitigil. Supposedly mag oopen lang sya pag umabot na sa certain temperature diba? Ngayon po, pag sinusi mo kahit di pa bukas ang engine, bukas na yung fan agad. Ano po kaya ang problem nun? Any opinion? Thank you

If it only started happening recently and you didn't had someone work on the electrical, it's likely a stuck relay.
Check the relay box under the hood and pull out the radiator fan relay to have it tested.

That, and/or a busted coolant temperature sensor. Is your engine temperature gauge still working?

August 15th, 2013 06:59 PM #4last time it had a problem is nung natuyuan ng freon ang aircon, so pina refill ko, then there was that situation where pagkalagay ng freon, di naman lumamig na, I thought may sira na talaga yung aircon. After a week tsaka ko ipapa check na sana sa iba shop, gumana naman ang aircon ng maayos na so di ko na po pinagawa. everything was running good, even this problem of mine in this forum. Then about a month after biglang nag ganyan na nga, di na tumigil si radiator fan. Anyway, salamat po sir, titignan ko nga yung relay na sinasabi nyo. Sana yun nga lang yun

August 15th, 2013 07:02 PM #5Sir sorry, di ko alam where that temp guage is, all I do kasi is open the aircon fan and thermostat (which are two different knobs), ok naman sya. Nagstop din naman yung thermostat pag malamig na, then it kicks in when needed. Pero yun ngang radiator fan ang di lang tumitigil.

August 15th, 2013 07:10 PM #8Nabasa ko nga itong lumang post here saying na nagpalit sya ng thermostat and thermoswitch, pero di pa din nag work, and had another opinion na fuse lang (or maybe relay yun) and dun naayos.

Anyway yan na nga po lahat ang suspect ko, pero sana yung relay lang, it looks like yun ang mura lang for fix/replace

Ok, looks like you got it all figured out. Bring your car to a competent electrician/mechanic for a thorough diagnosis. Good luck.

August 15th, 2013 09:30 PM #10Does this problem manifest from a cold start?
If so, its an electrical issue. A stuck relay or a busted sensor probe.
