I'm thinking of having my car's windshield tinted with neutrals or magic lights. In the daytime, they may offer great visibility as if there is no tint at all in your car but what about at night or if there's quite a heavy downpour? What brand would give the best visibility?

well, tama si odell, if you do have the budget, go for v-kool. i was in your exact same position when i was thinking of having my front windshield tinted. i ended having medium dark magic neutral installed in my ride..brand is sunguad. it offers great heat rejection in the morning, expecially in noon time pero at night, you have to really get used to it. but its not that dark mind you..but you will notice the difference talaga.

i think you should opt for the lightest magic neutral tint that way you wont compromise visibility at night

just a note though, putting on a super bright headlight bulb is not the answer if you put on super dark tints. road courtesy to incoming drivers is a must.

in my opinion putting the lightest neutral tint would be a waste of money because it would not reject sunlight that much..

ganun ba odell? kaya pala naka-super black tints ka eh! hehehe pero its true, putting on a light tint, like light black lang may not be worth it, thats why i put on medium black sa ride ko. :D

pero for those who cant go for medium or super black tints on the front but really need to put on a tint, just put on a light tint na lang to at least reduce some sunlight and glare.

try putting on platinum medium black magic neutral. its not so dark at night, parang nga wala kang tint eh..pero it does it job at day time rejecting heat and glare.

even those magic neutral tints will lessen visibility (especially when there is heavy rain or when driving down an asphalt highway).

I too have used sunguard magic black for my sister's Altis. I had them installed at Sun-X in Cubao. 2,200 pesos, including the visor, was the price if I remember correctly. It offered great visibility and heat protection.

I'll take M2's and odell's word... wala na lang sa tint sa windshield, plus the driver on the other car can return courtesy once you wave your hand to let him/her go first on a corner traffic situation.

Dami ko nang flying kiss na nakuha from female drivers, pero minsan nabatukan ako ni wifey... he he he

    My .02 cents.

Whats your purpose? You don't want people outside seeing you inside your car? or you only want heat rejection properties? If its the former go super black gray-silver-gray from solarguard, then medium charcoal up for the windshield. If its the later, go V-cool all around. Visibility will suffer on poorly lighted locations, but if there's sufficient light outside at night then there shouldn't be any problems. Its your choice.

I'm using 3M Magic Neutral for my front windshield. I'm not sure about heat rejection but it does seem to work. The primary reason I got it was for anonymity.

With the 3M's, it will be difficult to judge the identity and number of occupants at most angles and lighting situations while still allowing you to give hand signals to other motorists (if you put your hand near enough to the glass). As it is, only the stethoscope hanging on my rearview mirror is visible most of the time.

Yes, visibility will never be up to the levels of clear glass, but it works for me (my current vision is better than 20/20).

contrary to the old popular belief, this is not true.

V-Kool and FormulaOne has a clear tint that resists UV as much as the colored ones.

What I have on my car is the FormulaOne Pinnacle, I got the lightest shade which is 50%. But the protection is the same as the 35% shade of regular dark dyed tint or the metallized one.

i.e. of the same brand, FormulaOne with 50% shade:

    UV Protection % /Heat Rejection %/Glare Rejection %
    (Dyed) Classic 99/27/42
    (Metallic) Premier 99/40/42
    (New Tech) Pinnacle 99.5/49/44

Here's the specs for V-Kool films:

    V-Kool with 70% shade
    99/94/50

    V-Kool with 40% shade
    99.9/98.3/42

ILD, FormulaOne Pinnacle lang kapatid. Wala akong mahanap na malapit na V-Kool installer eh. I have to drive 45miles. And if ever, I cant afford to pay $500 for the tint

Karding: Hows the heat rejection? Am using Solar Gard's Gray-Silver-Gray, don't know if thats available there. Purpose is heat rejection and anonymity specially at night, 5200 lahat nagastos ko kasama windshield. Yung V-cool 17000

Heat rejection is as advertised. Lightest shade but very comfortable with heat rejection.

Had the SolarGard Quantum pero metallic yun at darker than my Pinnacle. The same protection as Pinnacle pero ligher shade nga lang ang Pinnacle, which is what I am looking for.

    SolarGard Quantum with 37% shade
    98/94/46
