Yup, I'd suggest you save your money. The VK tints IMO are overpriced. Maganda performance, but K14 din naman for much less. Di lang kasing porma ng clear tints.

June 1st, 2015 04:03 PM #1384Should I go medium tints for my mustang or clear tints? Ford bgc said I can choose and they will install for free V Kool.

June 1st, 2015 04:16 PM #1386Huling gawa ko, parang 5.5K for an FD Civic back in 2009 or 2010, no windshield *ATA* * Santolan.
Assuming the manufacturers' website info are all consistent (which they probably aren't), the Quantum series should have the highest TSER among Solargard tints probably kasi metallized (tama ba yung term?). Problem lang kelangan laging ilabas sa bintana yung epass/the nlex pass pag sa toll...
Manufacturer specs/websites:
Quantum 14 - 61% TSER
Quantum 19 - 57% TSER
K14 - 63% TSER
K28 - 52% TSER
VK 70 - 55% TSER
VK 40 - 65% TSER
Not sure if kasama yung visible light sa % energy rejected... but if it doesn't, then it probably explains why the K14 has better heat rejection than the VK70.
I can dig up some shots of our cars mamaya na naka Quantum if you'd like, pero semi OT na hehehe.
Sunday porma/highway car, clear tints all the way! VK40/70 =)
Pero usually yung offered for free are the VKool OEM Series (lowest grade)Last edited by mda; June 1st, 2015 at 04:22 PM.

Ford BGC's free tints are just the OEM-series. If you don't wanna spend anymore, just get OEM 20 (medium dark tint) all around.
However, I think sports cars are much better off with clear tint (or no tint at all). Ask them how much it'll cost to upgrade to VK70. I'd expect around 15-20k additional for your car.

TSER is the universally accepted metric for actual effectiveness of tint.
VK70 has 55% TSER and 94% IR rejection, while K14 has 63% TSER and 82% IR rejection. I've had both on my cars, and I can say that the K14 definitely has better heat rejection than the VK70.
With the VK70, you can still feel the heat of direct sunlight on your skin, which you don't feel with the K14.
Ongoing problem pa din Pala ito even among euro cars ...
