just want to share the reply of OHC to my email query:
    ----------
With regard to your query on PMS , please be informed that your vehicle’s first PMS schedule will be on its first 1,000KM. After which, the prescribed PMS schedule will be for every 5,000KM or every 3 months, whichever comes first. Based on your given example, your first PMS schedule will be on your vehicle’s first 1,000KM. For more information on the PMS schedule, you may also refer to your Service Passport.

    my email to OHC
    ----------
From my readings in the Tsikot Forum, many Hyundai car owners (including me) are confused with the prescribed PMS schedule. Is it based on mileage (e.g., 1000, 5000, 10000 kms) or time based (e.g., 1, 3, 6 months, respectively)? Meaning, if it takes 2 months to reach 1000 kms, then my first PMS schedule is on the 2nd month or when my car reaches 1000 kms?

    Hello fellow Tucson owners.
I just want to solicit your opinion and suggestion. I went to hyundai shaw last weekend. Nagpaquote ako for 20k km PMS and the SA gave me worth of 21k including labor (for fully syntetic oil) . Normal ba aabutin ng ganitong price? Nagsuggest nmn ung SA na pwedeng basic muna ang gawin sa 20K pms. Like change oil, pollen filter, fuel filter, oil filter, sparkplug. Drain ng coolant. Which baba sya ng 13k. But labor stil around 3k pesos. I asked the SA kung pwede ako magdala ng sarili kong engine oil, oil filter, fuel filter, pollen filter...

    Thanks in advance.
Anyway, mine is Tucson Thetta 2.0 GLS.

Dear all, just came from HARI head office at KPMG building and clarified their PMS policy. They (from the customer relations service) have accommodated my further clarifications and I thank HARI for that.

So, they confirmed their earlier email that if it would take that long for our vehicles to reach 1000 kms (say 2 months in my example), only then that we should bring our vehicles to the casa for the first PMS. Thereafter, every 3 months or 5000 kms from the previous check-up of our vehicles, whichever comes sooner, we should bring our vehicles for the regular PMS.

Now, that previous sentence, particularly "regular PMS", was misinterpreted by many casa. Most casa readily equate or assume that doing a regular PMS should always include changing the engine oil. As per HARI, this should not be the case. Changing the engine oil is just one of the services that should be done during regular PMS.

HARI clarified that depending on our vehicle's engine (petrol or diesel), oil (semi or fully) and mileage, the schedule in changing the engine oil of our vehicle will vary. For purposes of warranty, HARI will only allow HGMO, which they assured as 10W-40 and API-rated as SN (pardon for diesel owners, I forgot to ask for your HGMO's API rating). For petrol engines, we can use either semi or fully synthetic oil; for diesels only fully synthetic oil.

HARI also recommended for vehicle owners to demand the packaging, and even the excess, of the supplies or parts the casa used during our PMS (such as plastic container of the oil, packaging of the oil filter, etc) just to ensure what the casa used are new, unused, and genuine. Of course, we will dispose of them before leaving the casa (except for the excess engine oil )

That's it. Hoping this clarified some of our queries. Im sure it clarified mine. HARI also said I could always consult them for any further clarifications.

    Thanks

Guys, binasa ko na yung buong thread at mas nalito ako. Brand new unit ko, ano ba dapat gamitin na oil for crdi engines? Sythentic kasi ang mahal. Nakita ko yung kixx na pinots ni sir SG, mura yun a. Kung gamitin ko yun tapos change oil lang every 5k kms, hindi ba better than sythetic na every 10k kms ang magpapalit? I mean since CI-4 yun, still way better than the HGMO na binebenta ng mga casa.

If you will forego HARI's engine warranty then...yung KIXX is really much better than HGMO. catch is kung magkaron ka ng warranty claim sa engine magiging issue yan, Lalo na kung the subject is about lubrication issue related.

^^ malapit na akong ma-convince that current Hyundai's engines are very reliable (at least reliable)

basta tama ang SAE and API ratings ng engine oils na gagamitin, we will never have to worry about that warranty issue

Well.. I think it's worth the risk than using their inferior oil. Baka by the end of the 5th year lumabas yung sira dahil sa oil nila edi patay din tayo. I've been using motul crdi specific on my santa fe since 5k kms ang swabe parin til now na 25k kms na. Every mechanic I've talk to says that as long as I follow the recommended rating by the manufacturer as well as weight, there shouldn't be any problems. Also, since we have compre insurance, I think we can claim it thru them if anything goes wrong. Right?

Btw, any one knows what the part number is of the fuel filter/water separator is for our ride? Went to sering to stock up on consumables and they sold me a fuel filter with part number 31922 2B900. I'm a bit worried since it really looks like the fuel filter for the santa fe upon checking when I got home.
