Dear all, just came from HARI head office at KPMG building and clarified their PMS policy. They (from the customer relations service) have accommodated my further clarifications and I thank HARI for that.
So, they confirmed their earlier email that if it would take that long for our vehicles to reach 1000 kms (say 2 months in my example), only then that we should bring our vehicles to the casa for the first PMS. Thereafter, every 3 months or 5000 kms from the previous check-up of our vehicles, whichever comes sooner, we should bring our vehicles for the regular PMS.
Now, that previous sentence, particularly "regular PMS", was misinterpreted by many casa. Most casa readily equate or assume that doing a regular PMS should always include changing the engine oil. As per HARI, this should not be the case. Changing the engine oil is just one of the services that should be done during regular PMS.
HARI clarified that depending on our vehicle's engine (petrol or diesel), oil (semi or fully) and mileage, the schedule in changing the engine oil of our vehicle will vary. For purposes of warranty, HARI will only allow HGMO, which they assured as 10W-40 and API-rated as SN (pardon for diesel owners, I forgot to ask for your HGMO's API rating). For petrol engines, we can use either semi or fully synthetic oil; for diesels only fully synthetic oil.
HARI also recommended for vehicle owners to demand the packaging, and even the excess, of the supplies or parts the casa used during our PMS (such as plastic container of the oil, packaging of the oil filter, etc) just to ensure what the casa used are new, unused, and genuine. Of course, we will dispose of them before leaving the casa (except for the excess engine oil)
That's it. Hoping this clarified some of our queries. Im sure it clarified mine. HARI also said I could always consult them for any further clarifications.
Thanks
