Paris is nice but visiting one of the small towns in France can be just as rewarding, especially if you have the time to simply walk around and explore on foot.

BTW, when going to France, the usually snobby french people tolerate tourists better if the tourist try to speak in french. Even learning a few common phrases & greetings can help in certain situations.

I have been all over the United States(East,West, North and South includes Hawaii and Micronesia), been also to most of the places in the Carribean like Jamaica,Barbados, St.Lucia,British Virgin Island,Sto.Domingo in Dominican Republic,Cancun,Acapulco and Mexico City. But all the places I have been to, my favorite all the time is Cuba, being in Cuba seems to be like in the Philippines 50 years ago, since it is a Communist country everything has frozen in time almost everywhere, the culture and the people including most of 1950's car still running around in good shape, I am recommending Cuba to everybody to see before Communism collapse, it's a must see.

I've lived in Australia for 15 years and in between I moved to Denmark for 6 months lovely country, visited Sweden and Norway. Now I lived in UK and visited lots of country in the past year, France, Germany Belgium, Italy, Spain love Mallorca best paella I ever had is at Soler. Last year my husband suprised me with a visit to New York my first time in US I don't mind maybe I will be back. I do love Asia most though if I ever had time I visit Indonesia lovely people and only place I can relax.Singapore is very clean so as Malaysia. I am going home tomorrow to the Philippines for few weeks and I am going to take my daughter for a visit again in Thailand we've been there 4 times and always love it, the food is superb and the shopping is fantastic.
I think people should travel to enlighten themselves culturally but at the end of the day we should always have a place called home.
