Hi Guys! I just used Uber kanina since wala akong magamit na car namin. So I decided nag magpa-pick-up nalang sa SM North going to Eastwood. Since walang available na UberBlack ay UberX nalang ang ginamit namin and brand new Nissan Almera pa yung sumundo so it was a nice experience pati yung driver ay courteous and ma-ingat mag drive hindi basta-basta sugod. As for the price actually mas mura pa nga siya compare sa regular taxi hahaha! It cost me P163 w/o tip sa UberX and P169.75+P20(tip) sa regular taxi nung pauwi na kami. Cool talaga siya!

Anyway, maybe out of topic ito pero I would just like to ask doon sa mga nakapag Uber na if you gave tip sa driver? I am a person kasi who always give tip every time pero kanina hindi ko sure kung magbibigay ako kay driver kasi parang ang professional nila and iniisip ko baka ma-offend pa siya hahaha. Any thoughts/feedback about this guys? Thank you!

^sa website, they discourage giving tip. Pero minsan kasi sobrang bait nung driver to the point they will call you to update nasaan na ba sila. Pag ganon nagbibigay ako ng tip.

^yung Uber is just the middleman. So parang barker lang siya. Yung mga cars ang dapat may franchise. Pero madalas puros mga rent a car yung mga sasakyan.

Pag private car, doon magkaka problem.

Sana hindi na pakialaman ng LTFRB ang Uber. It's the only convenient and safe public transpo available now.

^uber palang natry ko. For grab taxi, same lang naman ito sa regular taxi.

Maganda sa uber is malinis mga sasakyan, Mabait mga drivers, and safe.
Pangit, surge pricing. Pag peak hours mahal sobra. But if you are willing to pay, this is better than no taxi. And limited areas lang meron.

Uber is safer and cleaner but limited area and more expensive during peak hours since they have surge pricing scheme. Grab Taxi is like regular taxi so same quality as taxi but they have more vehicles and better coverage. So, try Uber is there is one then get Grab Taxi, there's also Easy Taxi.

There's Uber, GrabTaxi, and Easy Taxi.

GrabTaxi and Easy Taxi
They partner with your regular taxis around the metro. So it's your regular taxis, with usually an additional booking fee.
- Advantage: When you want to get a taxi, you can use the app to get one instead of having to fall in line or standing on the street, battling it out with other would-be passengers.
- Disadvantage: It's your regular taxis, your usual taxi drivers. Also, some drivers prioritize those who put in tips in the app's gratuity box. When I put zero in the tip box, it takes me longer to get a taxi. When I put P50, a driver will respond to me sometimes ASAP.

Uber
They use private vehicles. You need to register your credit card on the app, because you pay via credit card.
- Advantage: Cars are much nicer. You can choose between Uber Black, which has nicer cars but are more expensive, or UberX, which is more affordable and uses smaller cars like Wigo.
- Disadvantage: They're mostly in Makati for now. So it's only easy to get an Uber vehicle if you're in Makati/Fort/Ortigas. There's also such a thing as surge pricing, where prices can be up to 3X higher if demand for Uber vehicles are high. And if you wanna pay in cash, well, you don't. You use your credit card.

GrabTaxi also has GrabCar, kinda like a competitor of Uber. I've yet to try GrabCar though, so I can't give any advice on that.
