My GF has been approved by a University in the U.S. to take up a 3 year college course. The school sent all the necessary papers. We already paid the $100 interview fee but unfortunately we're having a hard time contacting the U.S. Embassy for the scheduled interview.

But My question is...My GF's parents and siblings are all in the U.S.(green card holders) Since she's the only one left here in the philippines, they plan to get her to the U.S. by way of a Student Visa.

Do you think the U.S. Embassy will approve her Student Visa entry?

She will be approved with the US Visa of course. The question is, WHEN. I dont know.

The last time I checked, Student Visas are being closely monitored since the 9/11 terrorists had a student visa and more people were found to hold an expired student visas. I 'think' they are stiff for approving Student Visas nowadays. But who knows, she might get lucky, goodluck.

How long has she been waiting for the petition of her parents? (Im just assuming that she's under petition)

And you dont usually call the US Embassy in the Phils to schedule your interview. You will have to wait for them to send you an appointment letter.

She was petitioned before but did not pushed through with it till she reached the age of 21. From what I know, once the person reaches the age of 21 the petition records will be deleted from the database.

Anyway, since her parents is already in the U.S. will the US Embassy be suspicious on why she wants to study there and might assume that she'll never come back?

If you really have the means to study here.....then, you just need to finish your school.....after that, it wont be hard for anyone to find a job that can help them legalize their status.

Correct me if I'm wrong, if you are under petition by your parent(s) then you are not allowed to enter US or they will deny any VISA?

That will depend on your supporting papers, the interviewer and your answers to their questions......

....i almost forgot...your country of residence.

The 1st thing you have to do is call RON DIZON 5233556 and ask for the EMERGENCY INTERVIEW schedule (ASAP) for Regular Interview he charges only $23 (from $13 rate--kse from Php18 to 53/minute toll rate) and the US Embassy is giving sched for APRIL 2005 as of this week 14Ffeb2005 --he assists clients for US EMbassy Schedule--GOODLUCK!

btw, am not plugging here, just trying to help.

Yung alam ko ay yung Emergency Interview is only for life and death kind of situations... If the consul sees that you got an emergeny interview slot tapos hindi naman medically related yung reason, most likely your visa application will be denied.

Lets say you already have a $30,000 financial support from someone in the US, do you think the US Embassy will still ask for a financial support coming from the Philippines?

Babnoy, let me clarify that the $30,000 financial support is the 'annual income' of the person who filed the petition. This is NOT the cash at hand. A $45,000 annual income is enough for the USCIS to consider at least 4 people.

Cash at hand only applies to Tourists. If you are being petitioned (for permanent resident) by your relative, they wont even ask how much money you have in the bank.

Well If you say, "I'm from the Philippines...", then you know what's next...
    Exactly.

Its been two weeks since my bro and sis mailed the 'request for interview,' I hope they get called soon. All the paperworks are done, just waiting for the interview then the St. Luke Medical physical exam na.
