    Hi Kim,

Was in singapore last week for 5 days 4 nights. I used my mileage in PAL and stayed at Orchard Le Meridien.

I did extensive survey on prices of electronics:
    1) Harvey Norman stores - most expensive
    2) Sim Lim Square (along Rochor Canal road) - easily 10-12% cheaper than Harvey Norman
    3) Lucky Plaza (along Orchard Road where pinoys go) - easily 12-15% cheaper than Harvey Norman
    4) Electronics Stores/stalls below Le Meridien Hotel along Orchard Road - the cheapest digicam and digital video cam in town
    5) Mustaffa Mall (500 meters from Little India MRT station) - easily 12-15% cheaper than Harvey Norman but limited brand lines
    6) Car Electronics/Stereo is cheapest in the stalls along Ang Mo Kio #5 Avenue (brands include Alpine, MBQuart, JBL, Infinity, Bose)

With a 4-year old kid and wifey in tow, we tried almost all the "Hawker Food Stalls" in Singapore - Chinatown Smith Road, Geylang Road, Newton Circus, and Lau Pa Sat. The best could be had at Lau Pa Sat (right in the middle of the Central business district/Raffles Place MRT station).

    Btw, be ready to waaaalk!

Cellphones are a little bit cheaper, but you have to consider the warranty.
Digicams are cheaper, and always has the latest models here.
    Camcorders too.
You may to take a look at JVC with 30GB harddisk digicams.

Correct si Chieffy. Dala kami ng umbrella for the wifey kasi mainit sa hapon.

Met with some pinoy professionals doon who were my former colleagues sa isang U.S. bank. They highly recommend that tourists try some of the hawker food stalls specially sa Lau Pa Sat.

Also nice to drink beer (Tiger Beer) sa Boat Quay (watering holes along the river). Ride the MRT going to Raffles Place interchange. Look for UOB Plaza and beside it is the Boat Quay row of restaurants and bars. Wholesome ang place notwithstanding the presence of pubs/bars.

    Sir Chieffy,

Actually, the most convenient and hassle-free to go to JB, Malaysia is to take a taxi from Queen Street, Bugis. I think it's SGD8 / person.
