I am now planning our 4day-3night visit in HK, and I have some questions:

    1. From Tsimshatui to the Lower Peak Tram for the tram ride, how many minutes would it take to go there?

    2. From Tsimshatui to the Lower Peak Tram, what is the best, fastest, but cheapest, way to go there:
    a) Ferry ride from Star Ferry Pier
    b) MTR

    3. From Tsimshatui to the Cable Car Station for Giant Buddha, how many minutes/hour through MTR?

    4. When is the best time to go to the Peak, in the morning to noon or afternoon until night?

    5. Is it possible to visit the Peak and the Giant Buddha on the same day?

For Q1-2; depends kung ano mode of transport na pipiliin mo, ilan kayo? if 3-4 kayo, i suggest to take the cab kung gusto nyo mabilis at less hassle, pero if you want to experience yung tourist version, ito ang way: from TST, you can walk down harbour, and take ferry, sandali lang yung ride around 15min, pero consider mo din yung pag antay ng interval ng ferry trips, after docking sa central, meron na bus terminal dun, to lower peak tram terminus, 5-10mins lang yung ride.

if you would take MTR, napaka haba ng lalakarin nyo, and worse, puro uphill, kaya super pagod agad kayo papunta pa lang ng tram terminus.

    3. mga 1 hour ride yan, check mo yung mtr route, kung saan yung interchange to tung chung line to Ngong PIng.

    4. Best time is around 5-6; para you get to see the view below during daytime, and nighttime.

    5. Not advisable kasi ang layo nila 2, sayang ang oras sa travel, what you can do is Ngong Ping and Disney in 1 day. anyways, sa NP, kahit 2 hrs ka lang dun, whats important is to already have the tickets before going there to save you time, minsan super haba ng pila sa tickets, tapos pila ulit sa cable car ride.

    HTH.

Crossing the Harbour from Tsim Sha Tsui to HK side via taxi is very expensive. Add 50HKD or P300 to your normal taxi ride.

Just take the MTR to Admiralty station, then a short ten minute hike to the Peak Tram station. If you are in shape, this should not be a problem.

You could do Giant Buddha in the morning, go to the Outlets in Tung Chung, swing by Mongkok on the way back, then go to Victoria Peak in the evening for the best view.

AVOID HOSTELS LOCATED INSIDE CHUNGKING MANSIONS, it is a rundown place with plenty of touts and tambays. Pangit ng environment.

we we're here last December, okay na yung itenerary.

If I were you, I'd skip going to Avenue of Stars and watching Symphony of Lights. Hindi kami nagandahan.

If you have a kid w/ you, try the buffet breakfast at HK Disneyland Hotel. Characters go table hopping, great experience for kids and kids at heart ^_^

Able to get PAL flight two-way Fiesta Deal fare to HK for USD 167...wala pa yung PHIL. TRAVEL TAX: PHP 1620 and NAIA TERMINAL FEE: PHP750.00. Best talaga to arrange your tour yourself. Yung tours kasi is a waste of time. They don't actually bring you to the tourist attractions.

Just arrive from HK yesterday...their transportation system (MTR and Bus) is good...Just use their maps to tour around and you will not get lost...quite a cold time of year to travel there for now...peaceful and safe...walnag usok sa daan...clean, walang basura na nagkalat sa daan....

The only thing that is not nice there is the people's disposition in life, langing naka-simangot, not accommodating, ....unlike us, I would say although we are not rich as they are, yet we see several happy faces even in squatters area and people here are accommodating, helpful, etc....

But one would feel safe in HK, walang snatcher, hold-upper,....so for those who wants to travel abroad for the first time, HK is the right place
