I heard Emirates was super kaya lang sa flight availability talagang PAL eh. For domestic, I like PAL or Sea Air.

All the displeasure with PAL's stewardesses are news to me. I've yet to hear anything bad about the PAL service from either my wife or her aunt. My wife flew with PAL during her trip to the Philippines back in late 2005. My wife said the service was okay if not spectacular. My wife's aunt flew with PAL in 2004. The same thing. She was satisfied with the service. Both of them wouldn't hesitate to talk if they felt there was any bad service on PAL's part.

The only time I flew with PAL was when I visited my wife twice in Leyte back in the 90's. I flew the domestic Manila-Tacloban route. Nothing special. but, PAL's service on all my flights were far from being bad.

Oh well. I guess I'll have to see for myself someday.

2 things i hate with PAL onboard- not so pleasant /nice cabin crews and stinky, yukkky lavatories. It really sucks.
When flying Emirates, if you chance upon FA's Julie Dizon ( used to work with PGA kaya knowledgable sa kotse) and Hazel Buencamino onboard, you're in for a superb service and attention.
Virgin Atlantic- of course, one of the best inflight entertainment obviously because of VIRGIN (Sir Richard Branson), cool aircraft interiors and Esprit-like travel packs. Local version is Cebu Pacific because of "fun flight" attitude of cabin crews. They cheer up passengers, loosen tensions.
For budget travel to Singapore, Jet Star is ok. At least it's hub is Changi not the budget terminal.Clean aircraft, smiling crews but have to buy everything on board.
Northwest Airlines- virtually impossible to redeem award tickets( trans-pacific) but ok within continental USA.

I heard that's why they call it PAL = Plane Always Late.

That happened to me with PAL! I was still working in Bahrain before (1996). Pabalik na ako ng Bahrain, from my vacation (via Dubai). From Dubai, connecting flight ako via Gulf Air na. Yung plane na sasakayan sana namin, never arrived (from Dubai). Na-cancel yung Dubai-Manila flight. Kaya wala kaming masasakyan. Then another announcement na another 2 hrs.

Di man lang kami pinag-hotel.

Eh, pa'no, masagwa ang serbisyo. Kaya mga OFWs, mas preferred yung Saudia, Cathay at Emirates.

Noong na-assign ako sa Seoul, Korea for 6 months (in & out ng Korea), Singapore - Seoul ang ruta, final dest. is Incheon Int'l. Airport. I once tried KAL (Korean Air Lines).

After that, puro SQ na ako.

cebu pacific is always late too. kaya pinalitan nila ang slogan na "Filipino time is cebu pacific time". grabe mag maximize ng plane ang 5J sobrang bilis ang turn around plane kaya delayed sa mga bandang hapon na flights. pero magaling kumita dahil new planes. when some airlines are sleeping at night 5J flies to regional flights naman. gokongwei talaga!

True. .. . I remember when they were serving food ahead of my row, the stewardess was smiling when asking the passengers "Chicken or Fish?". When she came up to my row, she said with a frowning face "Manok o Isda?" and just dropped the tray on my table.

^^ a somewhat similar experience with PAL.

a few years back, while I was on my way back to middle east, may isang pasahero sa right side ko na first time yata maka-sakay ng eroplano, and I overheard his companion trying to calm him down, kasi parang nine-nerbyos masyado.

So to calm down the nervous guy, his companion asked for a glass of water. Naka ilang hingi din sila ng tubig kasi talagang natatakot dahil nga first time on a plane.

I think the stewardess got pissed or annoyed sa kahihingi ng tubig, sabi ba naman "ano ba naman yan, tubig na naman" sabay dabog.

    tsk tsk tsk

That is disturbing. If I or my family ever got treated that way, I will have no hesitation whatsoever embarrassing her in front of everybody. She has a job to do and she better do it right lest she wants to get herself fired.

    My 2 cents.

I have to admit, the prettiest stewardesses I've seen were on the one China Airlines I took from Manila to San Francisco. We stopped over at Taipei. The old crew got off and new fresh female attendants embarked. It's like a fresh breeze. That was a while back, though. I do remember it because the aircraft was one of those shortened 747's and I flew business class in it.

Yes Julie Dizon used to work with PGA sa sales with Arnold Matic sa parts and Jonas Silva sa service. Glory days of PGA.
Bakit nga ang sama ng service ng PAL d na siguro sumasakay si lucio sa economy class like he used to even if he owned it.
In fairness magaling naman ang PAL pilots as FedEX said.
