    Hi Guys,

Just want to check what can cause a whining noise when my car is accelerating fron 1st to 2nd gear. Sounds similar when in reverse. No noise in neutral. Changed release bearing but noise is still present. Car is Honda City 2004 MT.

    Thanks!

It's unlikely clutch-related. When was the M/T fluid last replaced? What is its condition and level?

Changing the fluid, especially if it hasn't been replaced for a long time, should be the first thing to do. If the whine persists, it's very likely due to wear and tear. 1st and 2nd gear is the most used gears in a car that is frequently in stop and go traffic.

If that were true, the whine would be present in all gears. 1st to 2nd gear lang daw eh.

Replaced the transmission fluid 3 weeks ago prior to replacing the release bearing and clutch disc.
