Used this for my vios and innova. no problem. 1st change on vios * 120K Km; Innova * 40K Km; both runs smooth as new, now vios *130K; and innova * 78K, (innova is due have another ATF change on 80K) any other suggestion to use? ATF Type-IV.

Then there's also its claim that this same oil can be used in both traditional A/T and CVT... what a load of c!*p!

It also uses the word "Suitable" when talking about compatibility with different transmissions. Anyway, before you pour that thing into "the most complex piece of machinery in your vehicle" (the A/T), watch the following video.

    Toyota ATF Type-IV, for starters.

I've always been a stickler for using the correct Type OEM ATF. You just can't go wrong. It removes the guesswork and all of the 'what-ifs'.

On the other hand, using a universal ATF leaves a level of uncertainty (which varies from one ATF brand to another) whether if it will hurt your A/T or not. I'm a betting man of sorts but I don't like to gamble with something as expensive-to-repair-or-replace as an A/T.

Type-IV even when new is dark, malapot and smells evil compared to the common red ATF. It was one of the first things I checked when I got my Vios new 6 years ago. I wrestled with a balky Lancer transmission before that and that taught me to use the correct fluids even if they're expensive.

call me picky but i always use oem tranny juices. i don't mind saving and ponying up for the cost just as long as i'm assured stuff like that won't lead to more head aches

btt: i did dialysis on our rig 2 years ago and i had to buy 15 liters. this year i only drained and refilled the atf since i also included the replacement of the atf filter.

Same here. We've already had A/T issues before and they car just doesnt feel the same after so i really also subscribe to using the OEM fluid to reduce possible issues. You can always purchase them at a dealer or OEM auto supply then have your suking tindahan do the work.
