    Gurus,

    Question for a 1996 AUTO TRANNY PAJERO

    How come napansin ko masyado matagal magshift yun auto tranny from 2nd to 3rd gear... You have to play it para magshift.

    Also sometimes from 3rd gear bababa kaagad ng 2nd gear. while traveling.

    I just changed my auto transmission oil as well as pinalinis ko na rin yun filter. Ganun pa rin.

    What seems to be the problem as hindi naman siya ganun dati, I just noticed it when i drove it since driver usually drives this car.

    Any recommendations???

    The ECU? The O/D solenoid? The valve body? hehehehe. Daming pwedeng magloko.

    Yung Sentra ng kapatid ko ganyan ang problema. Sabi sa casa, possibleng valve body ang problema. Pero mahirap i-check kasi complete teardown ng tranny daw ang gagawin.

    Could be also because the tranny ECU 'thinks' you are stepping hard on the pedal, so it has a tendency to downshift as well as shift late. Has your engine power dropped, forcing you to step more than usual? Not sure for your particular tranny, but also what some people call as the 'kickdown' cable, if it has one, may be misadjusted...

    Sabi ng isng friend ko baka clutch problem.

    Kasi today while test driving it. Napansin ko when going uphill 2nd gear goes back to 1st gear even pressed yun paa ko.

    Same with ClemO, clearly loss of power going up tapos when i reach 3rd gear it suddenly downshifts to 2nd gear causing my tuck to emit so much smoke like a squid.

    Tagal ko na kasi hindi na drive so i cannot compare it previously. But with our BF Gen2 which is automatic also wala naman ganitong problema.

    Sir OTEP, saan ko kaya pwede pagawa itong auto tranny problem. Plan ko sa motorix sa banawe kasi puro mitsu parts sila dun. Pero one friend says dapat daw sa auto tranny specialists.

    What do you think guys??? Suggestion needed

    Suggestion: try testing in reverse gear if you get the same slipping problem or not. Could be loss of pressure from the pressure pump of the tranny... Kung Ok sa atras, forward clutch problem probable. Then again, kahit anong problema, kung di nakuha sa tranny oil change and clean-out, baba tranny pa rin ang bagsak!

    If you do find a good tranny mechanic, please let all know!

    Mas maganda kung sa Automatic Transmission repair facility talaga dadalhin. Maganda ang theory ni Clemo. Baka nga losing pressure ang tranny mo.

    magkano po usually ang palit ng oil and filter for automatic? i just got my pajero kase ang i want to have yung oil na ma change..at how often this should be done? saan din ok magpagawa ng ganito?

    Around 1500 yun filter and mga 400 for atf. I will advice you to change filter/atf especially kung matagal na yun rig mo.

    I had my transmission overhauled. Laki gastos sunog yata daw yun 3rd gear clutch (am not sure of the right term)

    Did you check ATF level when idling and engine hot? Some trannies show those symptoms when overfilled with ATF.

    Also, what type of ATF was used?

    gaano ba kadalas dapat magpalit ng ATF?

    yung Galloper kasi namin bad trip na tumakbo... parang ayaw magshift or delayed magshift kahit ramdam mo naman na dapat lumipat na...

    yung Frontier ko malapit na din maging ganun... may mga times na parang yung lakas ng makina di maconvert sa bilis ng takbo dahil ayaw nga magshift sa proper time...

    salamat!!!

    dami talaga matutunan dito... bakit ngayon ko lang ba pinuntahan 'to hehehe...

    ATF is usually recommended by the manual to be changed every 40,000km on most brqnds i've seen... We prefer to change ours every 20,000km though.

    My friend's Frontier a/t also had problems... he had the tranny semi-overhauled sa CASA (palit gaskets daw... cost him around 20K). It ran very well afterwards.

    As mentioned, kung di nakuha ng change ATF, bagsak talaga tranny for opening-up.

    Up to now i still don't know of any good a/t specialist.

    yang ang problema ng mga auto tranny d2 sa pinas. pag nasira walang masyadong marunong gumawa nyan.

    dapat tlga specialist ang mekaniko otherwise tsambahan na lang ang gawa nyan.

    i've tried baltak motors in banawe. they do home service and give 3 to 4 months warranty on overhaul or surplus replacement. they're reasonable and honest. highly recommended! never go to lucas transmission in bicutan! i've tried them too! they use surplus parts and pass it on as brand new. they also over charge! he should be called lucas manloloko!

    pinaayos ko yong oil seal ng aking automatic subic pajero kaya lang parang yong mekaniko ay hindi familiar sa auto tranny. kala ko alam niya kasi matagal ko na siyang alam na mekaniko-almost 20 years. napalitan yong oils seal, kaya lang hindi na gumagalaw yong sasakyan nong naibalik yong tranny. ano kaya ang possible na nagalaw niya? saan kaya ang possible na problema, electrical o mechanical?

    dazzler...seems your mechanic has fu*%*%$* ur tranny. Maybe look at buying a surplus auto tranny. There's so many in country i guess because of the SUVIC's.

    (I have a Gen 1 Pajero with A/T tranny)

    finally had the tranny fixed. apparently, the tranny was not fitted properly, hence the damage to the oil pump gear. we had to get the oil pump gear made at the machine shop. didnt see exactly how it was done coz i was not there. what worried me at that time was the possiblility of damage to other tranny parts. do u think this part would last as it was only locally made? do i have to change it with an original part as soon as i find a suitable repalcement? what do u think guys? any body with similar experience?

    where in particular is this?kasi im having trany prob in my delica....i want to pay them a visit and take a look at my van...i want it home service kasi,e....

    i need another specialist' opinion....i have quoted it on an a/t specialist here in visayas avenue..and they say its a whole overhaul with a whopping 28,920 pesos! my mom almost had an asthma attack!
