L kung ayaw mo syang umalis sa first gear (steep incline/decline)
2 pag ayaw mo umalis sa 2nd gear
3 same as above pero 3rd, same as OD/OFF switch. Usually kung may OD switch, walang 3 and vice versa.
D lahat ng gears accessible, computer na bahala magshift.

July 18th, 2005 07:02 PM #35Puede naman ang D sa inclined road. Pag hirap na talaga saka lang ako nag-d-down shift.
tapos pag pababa. like sa highlands, naka 2 ako. Wag D tapos apak sa brake, masusunog preno mo.
tama po ba mga master?

For engine brake, just down shift to 3 from D or to 2 from 3, or even to L for really steep grade roads.
OD normally engages on D only.
Think of your A/T's L,2,3 as 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear on any M/T. Difference is, on D, the tyranny will shift automatically depending on the road/driving condition. Also, even when you're engage on L,2 or 3, the tyranny will still engage on the next highest gear at a set point on your RPM, this is to prevent the tyranny from getting damage due to high rpm/tryanny setting.
hope this helps.

yong reddish na mga ATF normally has Dexron I (II or III) added to it. some tyranny requires its atf to have this additive, some don't naman. i dunno what dexron is for though.
