Ubra kaya ang oil cooler from a pajero as an atf cooler? san nakaka bili hoses/hose line for atf? base sa international forum di daw kasi pwede ang fuel hose or regular hose line kasi mas matapang ang atf, baka mabutas or masira agad ang hose pag hindi atf rated hose na gagamitin.
Ganyan nga rin isang option ko, a surplus oil cooler frpm a 4d56 or similar (kung sino pinakamura hehe). Hydraulic hose yata ang kelangan similar to power steering hoses

The vehicle in question is a Terrano JDM TD27T, but am planning to do it in an Innova and MU-X, cheap insurance against transmission problems.

Yes meron sya built in cooler attached sa radiator , but it seems insufficient for my driving in the mountains, and crawling at insane EDSA midday

Reading international forums, there are lots of debates whether to bypass the radiator cooler and just the external cooler - ang rason nila to bypass is the radiator is it will make both the engine and trans much cooler. But most of the posts were in US and Australia where the weather is significntly cooler, baka di kayanin sa atin running on an external cooler alone...
