    hi,

im a newbie here and really need you assistance on my car. i just bought this car from a friend last January and we are planning to take a very long trip up north. its my first time to have an matic car coz i prv. own a lancer ex, medyo di ako masyadong komportable sa kotse na ito para sa byahe namin kahit na casa maintained dahil di pa naman sya nadadala talaga sa malayong biyahe.

ang tanong ko lang po eh ganire nasa 77k na milage nya at according dun sa pinagbilhan namin pina 75k PM nya na ito sa HC Alabang last dec. so minimal lang dapat ang pachecheck ko, kaso byahe ako malayo gusto ko me peace of mind ako eh. so eto yung balak ko pagawa :

    - engine decarbonizing
    - change oil
    - clean fuel filter/air filter
    - spark plug replacement
    - check valve clearance
    - adjust timing
    - adjust/clean breaks
    - drain/replace gear and transmission oil

    hammer,

I'm assuming that the distance of your trip up north will be about 600 kilometers.

At 77K mileage, depending on the previous owner's driving habit and if the car was used by the previous owner for frequent loooong out-of-town trips, it might be wise to have your timing belt checked. Baka kasi malapit na bumigay yung T-Belt, since you will take a long trip baka abutan ka sa daan.

By yourself, you can also check the condition of the belts of the alternator and AC if they will survive the long trip.

    HTH

Welcome to tsikot.com! :D Aside from those mentioned above try also checking the tire pressures and coolant system. Comfortable naman po ang LXi A/T on long drives. My sister previously owns it. Basta po alaga ay it won't give you problems. enjoy your trip sir. :D

Don't forget the timing belt. I think it's due for a replacement at 80K kms.
