What I said on my previous post is base on my experience on my daily route in C5 where in vehicles there are 90% private. And there are areas talaga na kahit marami na sasakyan kulang pa rin sa dami ng tao especially at rush hours like in our place along Marcos hi-way.

+1. That's what I really have in mind when I said root cause in my previous post.

I gave up on the traffic situation long ago. I understand that the MMDA wants to help motorists but they shouldn't be lenient in enforcing those rules on jeepney drivers na "makulit".

The best classic example is northbound Quiapo area and jeepney's literally PARKING at the first 2 lanes of the underpass just to ferry passengers. Ano naman ginagawa ng MMDA? Nakatayo lang dyan dyan lang. Paminsan hinaharangan yun 3rd lane. WTF.. Tell me on how traffic can be solved when you reduce moving lanes from 3 to 1.

Hell, most of us accept unofficially that the right-most lane is the "jeepney" lane.

In any case, mabilis lang solution pag sa umaga... depart before 7am hits :D

maraming rason kaya nagkakaganyan sa C5 o maski sa iba pang pangunahing kalsada sa MM....

    Mahirap isaisahin bro...

?Traffic costs P2.4B daily? | Inquirer Business

    By Michelle V. Remo
    Philippine Daily Inquirer
    12:41 am | Saturday, July 6th, 2013

If time is money, then the Philippines is losing P2.4 billion a day in potential income due to traffic congestion that eats up time that could have been used for productive pursuits, Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan said.

Balisacan, National Economic Development Authority (Neda) chief, was quoting a study by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica) that the government has tapped to help come up with a transportation development road map for the country.

“It’s a no-brainer that we need to boost infrastructure. We have a huge backlog in almost all types of infrastructure,” Balisacan said, adding that the government intends to invest in more roads, bridges, railways, airports, and sea ports during the remainder of President Benigno Aquino III’s term.
Gawa muna sila ng master plan.

Yeah, that's what our goverment forgets. Every last minute saved equates to more productivity time.

But of course they won't notice this, they're just sitting around and stealing from all the tax payers. Some won't even care at all.

Correct, wag yung puro band-aid solution. Dapat yung pang long term say 20 years from now.

Time is running out na kay Pnoy.

I beg to disagree with this bro, with our limited space, those PUV' s are creating traffic by simply doing what they are best, loading and unloading where they like ,unlike private vehicles mostly on the road from point A to pointB

yup like here in alabang, nawala lang yung lumang administration ginawa nanaman parking area ng mga bus and jeep yung alabang viaduct

if we have a good mas transport inter connection system we will see the end of days of those jeeps and buses but law and behold we are the only country on asia that used to have one of the best railways to the worst at present.

Remember when BS Aquino said the Manila's traffic was a good sign of economic growth rather than because of extremely bad road management?

Congested ports a sign of improving economy – Palace
    August 17, 2014 4:17pm

Look on the bright side. Congestion at Manila ports shows the economy is lively, a Palace official said Sunday.

"Dapat din po nating kilalanin na ito (port congestion) ay isang pagpapakita rin ng masiglang pag-unlad ng ating ekonomiya na napakarami talagang mga kargamentong dumarating sa ating pantalan, ‘yung Port of Manila," Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said of container vans that have piled up at the port.

"Patuloy pa rin pong inaasikaso ‘yan lahat ng mga awtoridad at pinagtutulungan ng iba’t ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan na makalikha po tayo ng iba’t ibang hakbang at alternatibo para ma-address ‘yang sitwasyong ‘yan," he said in an interview over government radio dzRB.

Coloma said that cargo may be coursed through other ports in the country as an alternative to the ports in Manila.

"Kailangan lang isaayos ‘yung logistical arrangement dahil meron naman po tayong iba’t ibang mga pasilidad, katulad ng sa Batangas at Subic, na maaari rin namang magamit para sa transshipment ng mga kargamento na galing sa ibang bansa," he said.

Port congestion has resulted in delayed deliveries and has been blamed for price increases in goods like fruits and chicken. Analysts have also warned that port congestion may impact economic growth and the competitiveness of Philippine goods.

The Philippine Ports Authority earlier identified the City of Manila's daytime truck ban as the leading cause of port congestion.

It cited that around 5,000 container vans land at the Port of Manila daily, however, due to the truck ban, only a fraction of those get to leave the port.

Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, who has extended an existing truck ban in the city, said that the daytime truck ban will continue despite protests and allegations that the truck ban caused the overcrowding.

Estrada said the city government has provided a 24-hour express lane for cargo trucks going in and out of the port. — Rouchelle R. Dinglasan/JDS, GMA News

Do they bother to chain or lock down containers to their trailer nowadays???

From Ren Macoy: "Along M. Roxas Jr. flyover. A trailer truck with two container vans toppled over and crushed a Besta van."
