I call to all the tsikot out there to abolish the number coding scheme!

its totally useless now the Philippines has progressed and most are able to bypass this by having another car or more, a win scenario for the govt since its taxable all its life (purchase tax, annual registration, fuel tax, etc...)

but what did the gov't do? it didn't expand and have corrupted the money, common, lets not be ignorant, why u think they spent millions and billions in election campaigns just to be a PUBLIC SERVANT??? hello common senses please! ... so their solution restrict the tax payers on using the facilities!

let the creator of this temporary failed solution be penalized for not thinking ahead, aka non proactive

and if this wouldn't be abolished then let it be a lost of public trust to the govt, the Filipino tax payers deserves what is due to them! just look at thailand right now, we're basically the same economy yet look at their facilities

if you have ideas or suggestions please post them below, no stupid comments please, this is serious!

1st you have to collect evidence that the agency whom assigned to implement the number coding failed to implement.

So if you want the number coding scheme to be abolished, what alternative will you propose? Did you know that former MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando suspended the number coding scheme for a few days before? The result was, traffic became much worse. Imagine the scenario now if you abolish the number coding scheme. You're also not proactive sir.

I think BF suspended the coding during the summer before (although the Republic of Binay did not) and he also implemented the window hours (and also, the Republic of Binay did not). How many years has coding been around? 10? 15?

What bothers me now is not the current number coding but how inutil our MMDA and government has been in addressing the traffic problem. Panay hare brained schemes with no real basic traffic enforcement even if Captain Obvious smacked them in the face.

Well, I admire your courage although you are anonymous online.
My suggestions are if you are really serious:

    1) Write your complaint and the reasons behind that in a better manner. Even an internet rant should be understandable.
    2) Back your statements with facts.
    3) If you propose to abolish something, present at least an alternative to the current system. OR clearly show that we are better off without the current system (i.e. color coding).

Although I am not a frequent driver in MM, abolishing the color coding will just worsen the bad traffic situation.
Probably it is better to think of long term solution than abolishing color coding.

For one, expand and improve the railway system not only within Metro Manila but also to and from MM. This is expensive but it is better in the long run.

Have you ever been to thailand? Because despite of Bangkok's "infrastructure", they suffer from same if not worse traffic jams.

I support people who buy second or third cars because its their right and its their money. I support those who wake up extra early or commute during their coding days.

However, I dont support calls for abolition of this, abolition of that, with those calling for it (ie: the TS) not offering any alternative, workable, realistic solution. Typical leftist attitude. Puro ingay, wala gawa. Sayang laway.

One possible solution is to implement an Electronic Road Pricing system, like what Singapore is doing, on roads in the Metro. It's a toll fee, those known to have heavy traffic the driver pays higher toll. Those who are traveling because of business deals, or bosses with high salary, businessmen, should be able to handle the cost. For those who can't can take the MRT. The MRT should not be subsidized and needs to be priced for reasonable profit. This ensures those who can use can afford the fair fare, ie your job commands reasonable salary for you to afford the MRT comfortably. Kasi ngayon pati karpintero dito sumasakay dahil mas mura siya sa bus at jeep. Yung executives bringing in more money to the country, like call center agents, are competing with those who brings in much less.

The last transportation alternative would be the bus and jeepneys, their fare should be significantly less than the MRT.

So in the end, those who are making lots of money can travel via cars, at a premium. Those who find paying the ERP too expensive can take the MRT, whose fare is corrected to ensure it's profitable. The passenger count should go down with the new unsubsidized fare. The rest can take the bus and jeepneys.

That is a plausible solution but it needs proper infrstructure to be built first before implementation.

Hindi yung tulad ng central bus station projecg ng implemented agad eh kulang kulang naman pala yung connecting transpo between he station and the next terminal for buses and jeeps.

Solution lang naman dyan ay effective, cheap, reliable, comprehensive and safe public transportation system.

Our current is nothing like that.. maybe the cheap part sige

I also don't like the coding system. Its pointless for me. Pero malabong matatangal, sa damidami ng problema sa Pinas, along with the crappy people running it and crappy people living in it (Generally lang ha, baka may magalit dyan tapos magtaas pa ng bandila ng pinas, tangapin na natin that most of our people's attitude are sh!t). MMDA is just gonna spout more "ideas" to supposedly curb our traffic problem.

Solution: Construct a dome over Manila and restrict entry of probinsiyanos.

Easy lang sa mga drastic solutions such as removing the number coding scheme. Before we compare NCR to Tokyo or Singapore, take a look at what they have na wala dito: efficient and comprehensive public transportation system.

Kapag pwede na tayo magcommute from bahay to office kahit pa multiple train and bus rides basta seamless connection and RF-enabled tickets ang gamit, we can start talking about removing the number coding scheme.
