hehe thanks sa reactions guys ... what I forgot to mention is the reason I didn't have my seat belt on was because I removed it when I reached for my wallet in back pocket and I was just about to clip it on again when I got apprehended mere meters from the toll booth... I tried explaining that to the officer but ofcourse he wouldn't hear any of it. Wear seatbelts all the time folks.

Hi, I'll be going to Clark tomorrow (or in a few hours actually, since it's past 12MN), and consequently we'll be passing through NLEX and SCTEX.
Meron bang nanghuhuli sa NLEX/SCTEX ng mga 4-5am? Not that I'm deliberately gonna go over the speed limit, but just in case.
Also, what do I watch out for should I suddenly find myself above the 100 kph speed limit? From what I've read, it's usually a parked vehicle, either marked or unmarked, by the side of the road. Yun lang ba? So I just slow down whenever I see a a vehicle by the side, when there's an overpass, and when there's a blind crest?
Lastly, saan usually nanghuhuli? Just so I've got a heads-up on which parts to be cautious. Thanks :D

Thanks GH. Last thing, quite OT, would it be faster to pass through SCTEx or Angeles exit at this time?

By the time you see the parked white van, its probably too late for you already.

Not necessarily. Before I bought a radar detector, I simple slowed down to 100-120kph whenever I am approaching a blind rise or corner in the highway and then look way ahead to spot the white vehicle on the side of the road. If none spotted, I accelerate to 150 to 200+kph.
It's practically the same even with a radar detector since I treat the detector just as an aid, another set of eyes to help me.

February 12th, 2012 08:48 PM #7Passed through NLEX and SCTEX on the way to Baguio last Friday.
At NLEX, passed by an NLEX pick-up with the hazards on, he was going to the overtaking lane and making the slow vehicles transfer lanes by flashing his lights and turning on the siren. He was going slightly above 100 so I slowed down and followed him. When he moved away from the fast lane I still followed him and did not overtake. We did this for quite a while, for several exits until he left.
At SCTEX I was following a Tucson and we were above the speed limit for most of the way. We passed by an SCTEX vehicle with what I think was an enforcer outside the car. I didn't see if he had a radar gun but he had a walkie talkie. At the toll gate at the end of the highway there were several enforcers looking at the lines of the cars. The Tucson in front of me was apprehended and issued a ticket. Lesson learned is to always follow the speed limit. Which is what we did on the way back home.
